    It's not an apology.

    This is an apology:

I'm sorry people that live in climates of the near ideal for the human animal would take such exception to having to wear a sweater in a car, in areas where true freezing temperatures are possible. Where the temperature can be 40+ degrees fahrenheit below the temperature motor oil is tested at for cold viscosity, and even six figure cars wouldn't be coatless comfortable as soon as you sat in them without a heated garage. Where prudent people keep a blanket in the car on the off chance they get stranded and don't want to worry about running out of fuel or CO poisoning.

I'm sorry those interested in saving energy and money have their heating thermoset at a temperature where they are already wearing a sweater. Assuming they already need to heat their homes to keep the pipes from freezing.

I'm sorry that we have gotten so soft that we whine when a car's cabin isn't at our ideal temperature when we open the door and plop our butts in the seat. It's a contraption that's first heater was to route the engine exhaust into the cabin. The contraption has improved greatly since then, and we no longer have to risk grandma or the baby to exposure when we take a drive. It is even possible to have the cabin roasty and toasy before you turn the key or push a power button. But doing so wastes energy and money, whether plugged in or not.

I'm sorry the Volt has drawn out such, um, emotion. No one is coming in the night replacing your Prius with one. Each one built isn't preventing Toyota in any way from selling their hybrids. It has its flaws. But it is just a car. No more, no less. So is the Prius.

And the Clash was just a band.

To sum it up, Volt is too much of a compromise to be practical. We keep finding out more and more shortcomings. All those little things add up and it begs the question, is Volt up to the chore? It may be for some but I think many people will find that it is not - especially now, there are many other (much better) alternatives to save gas and green (environment and your pocket).

You can't honestly tell me you think that's for any reason other than "OMG I am one of the first in the country to have a Volt!", can you? I laughed at the guy in that article calling a price mark up "morally wrong", though. What a dolt.

They want to keep on in the showroom for bait and switch. They make more money that way. So they mark up the Volt to the price so nobody will buy it.

It doesn't work dude. Prius is the king in green and it has the least compromise. Hatchback provides even better functionality than traditional trunk sedan.

"Prius is the king in green" could be challenged by Leaf owners for sure. "least compromise" can be challenged by ME, where's AWD? That's a HUGE compromise for me.

Not everyone values the same things you do, weighs them the same or shares your needs in a vehicle. Otherwise we'd all be little "usbseawolves" running around in our Prii. :) You keep forgetting to add "FOR ME" at the end (or beginning!) of your posts.

And lighten up, it was meant as a joke, but with a different perspective (people have them!) it works quite well!

It's over two million Prii though! Three million HSD is good too :)
