Thanks! Surprisingly, the old filter wasn't that dirty, given that I have never changed it before as far as I can remember (61k).

I have a 2011 lev 3 and mom has a 2010 lev 4 I have goggled and that's all that comes up I have had K&N before and over oil them every time had a ASE (i think the name is ) dry air filter in my truck and liked it it was made of synthetic papper and wood like to find something like that for my Prius .

Use Toyota's filter and be happy.

There's no point in using K&N.

If you have Amazon Prime, you can get the Fram replacement for $9.64 and the TYC cabin air filter replacement for $4.83. If you don't have Prime, buy two of each.

Been using K & N filters for years and there not necessary in a Prius. Just buy the original filter at the dealer.

The best part about a Prius is its really low maintenance.
Use synthetic oil and the factory filter and change the oil every 10K miles. Engine air filter every 30K. Its great.

Ironically the Prius I bought used had a K&N in it and desperately needed a cleaning. Since it was cheaper to put paper filter in than to clean and re oil the K&N I took it out.

I probably still have the old K&N if someone was close by to take it off my hands. I wouldn't bother to ship it as it's already a waste of money if I give it away.

I just changed mine at 151k miles and took a video. It took less than two minutes and I did it with one hand (left). :p

The point of the charcoal "top filter" is to keep HC vapors from rising up from the intake manifold and exiting via the paper filter.

Hahaha. I should be more clear. I change every 30k miles as said in the maintenance schedule. This is the fifth time changing so I went 1k mile over the schedule.

I'm just giving you a hard time, my friend. I know how meticulous you are with that car. :)
