Nice looking ride with the front lip mod, it seems to finish off the look.

I too am considering a spring setup for a modest drop in ride height. Have you experienced an increase of bottoming or scraping of the lower body?

I am concerned since I have install the Tanabe front cross brace which extends a bit lower and have scraped once on an aggressive bump. :(

I agree with you that the Tanabe springs appear to drop the rear a bit lower than I prefer also ride stiffness is a consideration (not young any more).

the only time i scrap is when i have a packed car. other wise, not really.

that front cross brace will prob scrap harder and more often if you lower your car. just be advised.

you guys should post your picture!! i would love to see this mod on other colored cars.

    Hi All,

Nice look, but that is one of these look things that sprung from a mod that was made to fix something, originally. Like fender bulgest. Originally, to get bigger tires safely on cars, the fender bulges had to be had applied onto the existing fenders. Over time, these became a stylistic cue for a powerful car. When if your designing a powerful car from scratch, one could easily make aerodynamic shapes to cover the larger wheel sizes. Instead, the aerodynamically inefficient bulges became de rigor. One of the things I do not like about the Gen III, where the Gen II had the smooth shaped sides - the best for aerodynamics.

Similarly, with these lips. Over on Ecomodder, cars without lips, have been experimeted with and found that the least drag lip height is not neccassarily the lowest. I have to think on the Prius, the stock bumper/lip configuration is tuned for minimum aero drag. But, since they have modded into other cars that did not have them, the look of a lip is now de rigor as to what a aero car should have. When there are other ways to accomplish what a lip does, if one is designed a car from scratch to be low aero drag.

Can you do some A-B-A testing (coast downs) with it off and on?

Very interesting topic. I wish I had the time to conduct such a testing. If you ever do get a chance, let us know.

this lip is really growing on me. loving how it looks! at first i didnt like how it flared out on the front and sides but i think it looks good now. i showed it to my coworkers and they were like... "it looks stock". thats exactly how i wanted it. not too flashy but looking good  my camera phone dont do it justice.

i havent got this much attention from a car since my 99 mustang. 2 inch off the floor/sparco milano seats and stearing wheel
