Well, I have been waiting for Carson Toyota to get a quote back from Kenstyle Japan since November.... FINALLY heard back yesterday afternoon. Then, I stumbled across the ASI kit in one of my new Prius mags from Japan that I recently received, and thought the FRONT of it was the bomb. But, those I've talked to said NOT to mix and match bodykits.....because, for instance, the side pieces and rear piece of the Kenstyle might not be the same distance from the pavement. They all think I should stick with one bodykit or the other. Then, I asked my mother tonight which one she liked better, and she thought the ASI was ugly. SO, that pretty much answered it for me, cause she IS buying it after all... So, I guess the Kenstyle, with the IKKI wing/rear spoiler, the headlight garnishes from Kaira (10 TOYOTA PRIUS 3 JAPAN HEADLIGHTS GARNISH for HALOGEN), and ONE of the spoilers for the top of the hatch (jury is still out on that one). It'll take 2-3 months to get the Kenstyle kit, so that'll give me time to start looking at wheel options...

haha nice! Any ideas on wheels or type of drop yet? You're already getting the baller parts from japan, might as well get the wheels and coils from over there too...save on shipping ;)

Well, so far I like the ones I had asked about in another thread (the wheel is AME GRACER ????? ), but they are $3500. So, I'd STILL have to buy tires on top of that, so not sure. I always said I wanted a 5-star, where each "arm" of the star arched/curved outward in the center, and then the tips of each "arm" curve back in and sit on top of the outer wheel lip. I saw some like that on a Veilside RX-7 one time, and I about cried when I saw them. Of course, I've never had the slightest bit of luck finding any that are even REMOTELY close... Then I ran across these multi-spoke ones (img57532516.jpg) and LOVED them... So, darned if I know! And I guess I'll have to put on the bodykit, then the wheels, and then see how much drop room I have available... Is that the way that works?

You should do the drop and wheels before you do the kit. With a kit like the Kenstyle, you'll probably want to run air suspension if you're new to lowering cars since you'll want a little bit of wheel tuck.

Is this your first modified car?

It's my 2nd one that I've done to this extent. I always re-do the interior, do new stereo, speakers, plexiglass subwoofer enclosures. Then on the outside, I do the vent visors, rear wing(s), a sunroof (if it didn't come with a sunroof), new wheels (if the factory ones weren't smoking to start with), lower it, etc... But I never went into replacing lights, adding a body kit, Funny thing, my 1st one I did was a CRX (I don't even want to think of how long ago that was! lol). I told myself I'd NEVER do the whole bodyshop thing again. I'm unbelievably anal about my cars (have towels draped over the scuffplates so they don't get scuffed, for example), and I was a nervous wreck by the time I finally got the CRX back. I had my windshied smashed out 3 times, side windows 2 times, because people were trying to see what they could steal since it was so hot looking. So, I've been leery of going to this extreme again, but I guess I'm taking the plunge... I kinda left my job 1 1/2 years ago and moved my 85-year old grandmother here to care for her full-time. It's been the most difficult period of my life... I definitely couldn't have ever imagined it would be this grueling of an adventure! SO, you could say that this project hopefully will be some much needed mental distraction! Anyhow, back then, I hadn't started taking lots of pics of my cars, but I attached a pic of when I started doing the CRX. Wish I had taken pics throughout the whole process, but didn't. Oh, well....just a flashback to the beginnings of my very 1st project many years back...

Ah well then you have some experience driving a lowered car :). Depending on how low you want to go and then how aggressive on the wheel side, you could just stick with springs but with a kit like the kenstyle, you'll prob want to get rid of wheel gap which means you'll prob be stuck using coils or air suspension like what I'm doing.

That photoshopped picture looks pretty sick, even better if the moonroof was open.

I would like to find a subtle roof spoiler like I put on my 09 Corolla S. I found it on eBay for only $140 & it was already painted.
