    Hey if any of you guys are into Blues....Try Joe Bonamassa (Live from Nowhere in Particular or for DVD at Royal Albert Hall)! Another great guitarist! My favorite is of course Jethro Tull but their music does not have the low end a lot of people want today. John Mayers live album is good too. If you want some great rock go with a late RUSH live. Fantastic music and great Drummer. By the way do I need to add a Sub to the JBL system? My lll will be in on the 11th of April, does it have a USB port or can one be added to it?

    I have had great sound from the Joe Satriani Extremist CD and all my smooth jazz plays well (Rippington's, Dave Koz etc.).

    Jewel's "Hands" sounds amazing in the Prius...you can almost see her singing just right in front of the HSD display! Her voice is just hovering in the middle of the dash! Wow!

    Neil Peart's drums on R30 sound awesome in the Prius. I really like to crank the R30 Overture. I am a big fan of early Tull, especially Aqualung, Passion Play and Thick as a Brick. Thick as a Brick and Passion Play are pretty good recordings but Aqualung is a little thin IMHO. Enjoy your new Prius!

    I agree with you on The Extremist. "Friends" and "Summer Song" are favorites. I like that the recording is a bit louder than most. I tend to jump at the beginning of Friends if I dont know it's coming. Another Satriani song that sounds great in the Prius is "A Train of Angels" from Crystal Planet and "One Big Rush" from Flying in a Blue Dream

    For Jazz Guitar, try Pat Metheny's First Circle and Torsten DeWinkel's Humanimal Talk, especially the song "Dinner for Three"

    Sigh...you are right on sadly. I remember years ago you could buy a vehicle with an empty slot and install your own audio system. But that prevented car manufacturers from overcharging for comparatively crappy audio systems.

    Now to stay on topic, How about Poet and Peasant Overture from Frederick von Suppe.

    I agree with the other satriani songs. I will have to download the jazz tracks and try them out.

    By the way. Noticed you are from Mass. The company that I work for did a completion on a new EC135 helicopter for the Mass State Police about a year or so ago.

    I changed from an Audi A6 4.2 with the BOSE sound system to this Prius with the high end JBL sound system. I have found the radio sound quality in the Prius sucks...

    I then signed up for XM radio and that helped a bit, but the CD sound quality is great. Even the XM guy told me he has customers, who when they plug their portable XM receiver into the accessory input in the arm rest, the XM sounds much better.

    Does anyone else have an opinion about the sound of the radio in these cars or a way to make it sound better?

    Better speakers and headunit? Padding the door panels with sound deadening material can help reduce vibrations from the speakers.

    It's a step up from the last gen's JBL audio system. I still think our 2002 Camry's JBL audio sounds better.
