Hey all! Im an old-school hot-rodder making the jump to a prius cause lets just face it, gas is too damn expensive, but cars are my first love! I have my own off-grid solar & wind system on my house and now its time to take that technology and knowledge and put it to the road! Im a network eng. by day and I rebuild HO alternators in my garage at night. I look forward to reading the posts and learning whatever i can to modify my "soon to be mine" prius. Im more than willing to contribute whatever i can, but like the subject says- "NEWB" when it comes to hybrids.

    Cheers!

Welcome. Sounds like you may be a future plugin conversion candidate.

Welcome to PriusChat. With a Prius solar sunroof, you may be able to power a few fans around the house/garage.

Noisemaker, welcome to the forum. I think the Prius will hold your interest quite well and not just because of the good mpg's.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I have many ideas for the car. Right now I have multiple HO alternators in my siverado and a huge LA battery bank in the back which I can plug into house at night which gives me an addition 750aH of capacity. I want to blend the technologies with my new prius (which i will most likely be purchasing within the next 2 weeks).
