I know here in Southern Indiana you can't get a Prius for under msrp. And the dealers love to rub it in yo face! So I guess I'll be waiting..and waiting....n waiting.......... :( Jasper, Bloomington, Evansville Indiana...all the same!

so here it is almost a year later and it seems like the tables have turned from March 2011 i am new to this forum and I will be purchasing my first prius next week. My question is why are there so many 2011 prius in stock and why are dealers now offering large discounts as well as 0% financing?

Don't know but 2012 Priuses didn't start hitting dealers until late-January 2012, IIRC. On most other cars, the next model year of car usually starts showing up around Labor Day of the previous year.

Obviously w/'12s on the lot, they'd want to get rid of their '11s.

I'd imagine that w/gas prices shooting up, the '11s will be gone soon. I posted at http://priuschat.com/forums/freds-h...ill-gasoline-go-in-2012-a-10.html#post1474890 about how two stations I frequently pass suddenly shot up from $4.03/gal to $4.19/gal, apparently on 2/22.
