Well I made the change 4 weeks ago to a 2011 Prius, color winter gray wow. Just turned 1300 miles and getting 52 MPG and enjoying passing up the filing stations. This vehicle sure is fun to drive:):):)

Congrats on your life change to the Prius. Good color choice too :)

Yes, I changed from a Jeep GC so understand your change. I had initial concerns about hauling stuff but so far have found very little that I could not fit in the Prius.

Yea, passing gas stations is fun !

Between myself and my wife we have owned two cars larger than the prius, and five cars smaller than it. For our needs/wants it's pretty much the perfect match between load carrying, people carrying and of course fuel economy/affordability. even if we wanted an SUV, we couldn't afford to run one.

I left Ohio and "gonegolfing" in Carolina; nice.

    Enjoy your high MPGs.

Congrats! We downsized my wife's Subaru Outback to a 2010 Prius almost 2 years ago and just downsized our minivan to a Highlander Hybrid this week! I find that maximizing fuel economy is not only good for natural resources and emissions, but my driving is safer, too!

When I drive I-77 through upper NC and WV, I get plenty of opportunity to practice hypermiling, Pulse & Glide, and Stealth. These driving techniques will help you improve your MPGs anytime, but will also offset some of the MPG hit the Prius takes in the mountains. The video link below is the best I've seen so far on how to optimize MPGs and what the Prius display should look like.

Glad to here you had fun here. I own golf clubs but I don't think I have played for 7 or so years. Played allot of other courses here but never Waikele. I did not downsize with the Prius it's about the same size as my old car. My former car's MPG's averaged in the low 20's and it needed premium fuel. The Prius is great, awesome 50+ MPG's and 500 mile range.

    Aloha,

    ED
