When I collected my car, the saleman (who previously had given very good service) said,

"heres the keys, the cars outside. You know more about it than we do" (or something similar).

Hum... at least he was honest!

The technician had previously lent me all the workshop manuals and the technical CD

Yes they set it, but it was the dealer's address. They were demo'ing the car to people befoer we showed up for the test drive and bought it. :p

I thought about keeping my reg in my wallet also, but then a friend showed me my address and phone, satellite pics of my house, just from my VIN. So now I just do not worry about it anymore.

Living in the state of fear are we?

C'mon people... insurance covers all those scenarios. I haven't locked the doors or windows on my home in over 18 years. Car gets stolen... insurance buys you a new one... stereo gets heisted... insurance buys you a new one. No big deal... stop living in fear!

Yup. I picked my Prius up at Hamer Toyota in Mission Hills (I think...maybe Granada Hills?) and my salesman (Doug) had programmed in my home address. I thought it was pretty cool that I could just say "Go home" and it would set my home as the nav point!

Demonstrate the NAV? I knew more about the car than the salesman.

My dealer didn't even set the "AREA" for the Northeast where I live so on way home the NAV was not even working .... world class....
took me a while to figure out you need to set the location first, there about 10 locations across the us ..
Same thing happened again when I had the NAV recall update done to vers 4.2 but this time I remember quickly how to set the northeast area again :) . I also had to set the "orientation "again and that time back to the manual .
