    Hey guys and gals,

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I was cleaning out my 2005 Seaside Pearl that I just got a few weeks ago and noticed that under the front driver's seat towards the rear of the car that there is a cut in the carpet in the shape of a triangle. It looks very deliberate and precise to me but who knows, it could be damage done during manufacture etc.. It is directly behind where the DVD Navigation system is mounted and I'm wondering if it is related to it. Otherwise it is a design flaw or damage that needs to be repaired. My only issue if it is is that I never noticed it on the vehicle walk through. I t also doesn't look like it would be easy to replace or repair. Can anyone let me know if they have a Package 6 with DVD Navigation if they have a similar cut in their carpet floor underneath the driver side front seat near the rear of the vehicle. (You only notice it if you pull the seat all the way up close to the steering wheel.) It is directly behind the black box that holds the DVD Navigation system.

    I appreciate your feedback.

    Don

no, it's not damage. Not sure the purpose of it but all cars have it (at least the ones with NAV)

Sorry "maggieddd" but I didn't realize you alone responding counted as "everyone has it" and that should suffice. No offense intended but I wanted more than ONE response of someone saying they ALL have it. How could I know that you could speak for the entire Prius owning public? I wanted to be reassured and now I feel better. I truly do appreciate your response but I wanted to hear from a variety of people. Is that so wrong? No big deal but at least I see that it is not a defect or damage.

Thanks to everyone else who did respond as well. The Prius owners are very helpful and informative.

A simple search would have revealed the same information has been posted lots of times before.

I think that's probably why everyone didn't jump on to answer, because maggie answered, and it's been answered over and over before, so nobody thought this was a poll or required multiple validations of common knowledge.

Just for the record, all the carpets have the cutout, under both seats, whether you have the NAV or not. One Carpet Fits All.

Yes, folks here are very helpful, but they also see the same questions asked repeatedly, and generally don't all answer each one each time.

I've probably answered this question three for four times myself here, so you can understand why there isn't a big rush to repeat it.
