Yesterday in 3 separate 90 deg RT turns the car went into neutral. Was able to shift normally back into Drive. Many other right turns normal.
First time it happened, we bought it new in 2007.
The actual shift nob "sticks" when shifting into Brake. returns about halfway otherwise everything normal.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanx,
    Carl

Sounds like you need to replace the shifter assembly. When turning right, the knob would have a tendency to move towards neutral if the return spring is weak or broken.

Thanx northwichita. I'm sure that's the problem. After some experimenting I found that the lever was not coming fully back so bumps or force could activate the Neutral "gear".
I now have my own stick shift Prius until time for the mod.
