dang. my wife has appropriated my car and named it "Pearl". I immediately wondered how many other Prius Chatters have named their cars "Pearl." Now I'm on the wait for the Prius c... I hear it's due for release in mid-2012. Maybe I'll get my car back when I buy a new Prius. Seems to be how it works.

I feel your pain. I lost my 2010 III about a month ago to my wife who is now commuting with it to a new job and I'm now driving a lowly '98 F150 XL SuperCab. Yup, FE sux but I enjoy the room and will be putting it to work.

Maybe you can work out a deal? We share but we also have two new cars which I never wanted but when a head gasket goes and you are sick of the BS you don't get much choice.

As much as my wife loves to drive a Prius, we have an agreement that my 2012 Prius will be my summer car replacing my existing summer car. She has her own summer car that I do NOT drive. She will NOT drive my Prius. She can buy her own.

I say go commandeer your Prius back and tell her to go buy her own ;) Go tell her it's my Prius and I want it now!!! :D

Bill is referring to his Fiesta. I saw him acting as a double agent over at Fiesta Faction :)

Thanks, y'all. I went in knowing there was a pretty good chance that I'd have to fork it over. She agreed to buy a sailboat instead of a car on my last turn, so I ended up driving my 2000 Tacoma for a long time (@billnchristy - until stuff started going and I was sick of the BS!). I get her 2005 Civic EX Coupe, Dolphin license tag and all. I'm hoping the Prius c is too spartan, too small, or too something to make her think about snagging it and handing me the II. Of course, that could offer up another opportunity to propose a new boat situation. heh heh heh...

Sorry you lost "her!" I had to chime in since I also call my Prius "Pearl." :) My husband is not amused.

My wife is pleased to ride in our Prius, but refuses to learn how to drive it. So, I get to keep the car :), but I am now a glorified chauffeur!:D

We had originally planned for my wife to take our new Prius and I would take her car, as we have done with every new car we have bought over the years. I work at a paper mill and that is not the best environment for a new car.

After we picked up the Prius and she drove it the first week, she knew that I really wanted to keep the Prius. So, she reluctantly agreed to give me the Prius back since she had been able to have all of the other new cars :) She still loves to drive it every chance that she gets.

My in-laws were driving our Prius a lot, so we sold their car and bought a LEAF! (We share vehicles.) Both the LEAF and Prius are great vehicles, though I must admit that the Prius is no longer my favored ride. :)

I can see Pringles since the roof sort of looks like one.

My wife won't drive mine cause she thinks there is some sort of hybrid voodoo. She says she doesn't know how to drive it. She wanted to name it "Blizz," though. Like "Liz," yikes. All my cars have been named Junior.

Our 2004 is Clover (Tideland Green), which my wife inherited when the 2010 came to us, named White'n'Nerdy (Weird Al song). She's only needed to drive the 2010 when hers was acting up and I was in the process of fixing it.

So the answer is - become a 2 Prius family, and you won't have to fight over who gets it - just which one. ;)

Hi - how did you get on a wait list for Prius c -- i phoned my local Toyota dealer (NJ) and they said they won't be getting any of them next year......

My wife won't drive our Prius unless out of necessity. I work downtown chicago and train in (parking is more than I'm willing to pay, as well as not being able to handle the commute in stop and go traffic).

I overheard her offering her car to her sister and two grown daughters to use when she visits next month... Hope I get it back....
