While searching on cars.com for a 2011 Prius V (this is the current model, not to be confused with yet to be released Prius V larger unit) and the price listed was $39,491. Even at full retail how do you get to this price. If it is fully loaded I don't think it would be almost $40,000. unless it is a case of the dealer just jacking up the price due to demand.

To pay that price, and think it's acceptable, YOU would have to be completely LOADED!!

Someone out there looking diligently for that color or package will buy it... and possibly pay that or somewhere near that for it. Ya gotta start somewhere!

If that's anywhere close to the right number, it sounds like they'll definitely rely on the $9,500 federal tax credit on electric vehicles going through!

Sounds like that $5K markup of recent.

And so we begin to see the confusion they are going to create with calling the new Prius a v when we still have a V package to sell.

The v models are not for sale and are not yet even built. The ad refers to the V package current 2011 model, not anything electric. Darkstar are you confusing the v with the phev!?

LOL! I thought it was a bad move when they first announced the "V", they should just go ahead and call it the Prius Van to avoid confusion...

Could be real. Probably is real. The sad part is somebody is likely going to buy it who has never heard of PriusChat.
