I was wondering about the power cord. What gauge wire is it and what might be the normal current draw when charging? Are the plugs on both ends standard? How does Toyota accommodate the use of 110 & 220. According to what Tony said the cord supplied by Toyota was relatively bulky. I am asking this because when I buy the PHV I will no doubt fabricate another, lighter cord. If amperage doesn't get in my way. :cheer2:

I modified my 05 prius with a pluginsupply.com kit. I can go 45-50 miles pure electric at the push of a button, or go regular hybrid and save the extra EV mode for anyplace it's needed or go super hybrid for 100 miles at 100+ mpg.
It's much less that the wait for Prius plugin and works better.

Very impressive numbers, but that system isn't cheap, not even close :(

That's the best aftermarket plugin kit. I wish they offer one with 5kWh pack so it is more affordable.

Agreed...I did the PlugInSupply conversion as well. Do not see the point of waiting 2+ years for a Toyota engineered system that is less powerful. This will get me by until there are pure EV's that have decent range and cost < 50K.
