OK maybe not 20 switches yet but I'm sure by the time I'm done I'll end up with 20 or more switches.

I'd either do in the slide back center console or in the upper glove box.

Put an extra panel on the headliner, then it'll be like an aeroplane.

I guess the bigger question is what do you plan to be switching? I added one switch over the blank next to the dash dimmer switch to control my garage opener. I decided against buying the Gentex Homelink autodim mirror. Many here have reported the autodim doesn't work very well. My switch matches the flat black look of the blank and has a green LED in it. It's easy to spot at night and one press triggers an old opener I hid behind the dash.

you could consider doubling up; with the right sized switches you can make your own. these come from a Victor electronic mouse trap and i had them laying around, but can order similar sized ones; they are glued together with a 1mm spacer plastic piece in between and one switch has one side of rim removed. made bezel strips from lid of storage bin (2mm thick, 1/4" depth) and glued them to switches. the 1/4" makes assembly sit in hole properly.
i'm not quite finished, but one side is blackened to blend in.

These are the few that I can think of right now. Some I can mount elsewhere that doesn't require driver seat accessible. But a lot of of them do. And yes, I'm using mini rockers where I could squeeze 2 switches into 1 OEM switch blanks.

cpro, maybe you could use a small HMI with a relay board hidden away somewhere?

Where ever you mount them, watch out for airbag clearance.

I would suggest fabbing a RIO cockpit in the backseat and putting them there. Then you can enlist your passengers to work the switches.

Well, to see what several rocker switches in a row look like, what better car to look at than an XKE Jag. Of course, unlike the Jag, your switches are likely to work all the time ... as long as you stay away from Lucas electrical parts.

My thought is to remove the overhead eyeglass holder and make an insert that slips in that holds the rocker switches.

Then you can adapt something to cover the switches. Perhaps using the original eyeglass holder.

I dont want to put any switches overhead. Too many wires to run up the pillar.

    Cleaner and easier way:
3" color LCD (USB programmable) touchscreen mounted on dash--->Hidden control box under dash(15-20 each milliamp outputs)--->hidden relays to drive all of your 20(Really??) components

Under bridge area? or possibly a fold-out panel in the center console?

You can use a bluetooth relay controller and control all the switches with an iPhone, iPod, iPad, PC, Android, etc.

Well the next thing is to make a custom control box with a dongle/harness that stows in the center console or glove box. When in use it can be placed in the cupholder for convenience. When not in use it will be hidden for looks.
