still astounded by the amount of ignorance and misinformation by anti-hybrid/anti-Prius folks

And dark energy must be the untapped galactic expanse of oil reserves, just waiting for future Hummers to burn.

I think the half-life of misinformation is longer than the age of the universe. The half-life of correct information is measured in picoseconds.

With apologies for the slight necro...

I tweeted my testing out a Prius and all. I got this snark back: "You'd need two though, perhaps some kind of gang... ...roaming the streets, looking for for charge points." But maybe he was kidding.

A plug-in isn't even remotely on my radar, even if they were out, as I have no outlets for it and I don't imagine the neighbors would appreciate the 100+-foot extension cord or my bringing it inside each night. :)

Edit: He now suggests waiting for plug-in because running out of juice on the highway is a great way to meet new people. LOL.

I had to laugh at the attitude displayed by a commenter at Why I'm Not Buying Tesla Motors (TSLA)

Yes i seem to remember that gen1 was using leyden jars weren't they? Then gen2 was those SLA's! gen3 of course had those horrible memory-effect nicads, and the v now has those fancy new nimh cells.

Obviously he shouldn't buy any piece of technology until it stops advancing. Or vehicle for that matter, they haven't perfected the air bag yet.

I'm sure this will mark the last time the reporter gets his technology reports from Amish Country.

Even the Amish use LED tail and brake lights to drive on the roads with their buggies.

LED tech is advancing really rapidly right now. The Amish are ahead of this guy.

Surely he ought to be reporting that pure ICE based car owners should be worried about re-sale, because those old things are soooooo yesterday !

I wonder what he does for a cell phone. Is he onboard with BlueRay? What computer does he buy?

^The guy probably got burned paying $10k for a Pentium 1 when they first came out.
He probably typed his OP using the computer at the library because he refuses to buy another computer, period.
