Try the CD slot mount if you don't need to swap CDs while driving.

I'm not sure how this would work on a II. I have a III and use the built-in bluetooth for the phone.

That looks really great. Could you tell us a bit more how you attached the Kensington holder to the ProClip?

I need to use different devices, so I don't think I can use any of the ProClip holders. I have a Kensington one in another car that is great, so the combo with the ProClip mount sounds like a winner.

Since the proclips have a generic fixed and flat mounting plate I just used a small locking-ball swivel plate that I had laying around that happened to have the same slide in clip that fit the Kensington. It's a standard universal design that works with lots of different mounts. I don't recall exactly where I got this one, but it might have some with and Sirius receiver that I never used. It's got strong double sided adhesive on one side and plate with the slotted holder on the other. It's fairly low profile while still allowing me to tip and rotate to suit.

    Hello!

I have a 2006 Prius and I'm looking to do this same thing - use a left-side proclip mount and then rout power and aux through the dash. Do you know of any guides for a Gen2 prius? I can't find anything.

    Thanks much.

I'm not aware of any specific guides. However, in his 2007, my son uses a Kensington 2-in-1 Car Charger and AUX Audio Cable placed in the center console. He keeps his iPhone in a cup holder mount in the console and the provided cable is long enough for that location. To get it clear over to the other side of the steering column you'll need a dock extension cable. Make sure you get one that passes both power and audio, not all do.

Does anyone currently have this proclip mount setup using the Apple iPhone 4 GPS? I'd like to know if you can get a steady GPS signal from this location considering its somewhat under the roof. I borrowed my my friends tom tom app on the iphone 4 not long ago and it was placed inside the the cup holder and I could not get a GPS signal, he had to hold it near the windshield for most of the trip when we needed it. I'm sure its a line of sight issue since this area is under the roof not near the windshield.

I would be very careful about the CD-slot car mount. I order one in May and they were on back order. According to my order I was #34. A couple of days ago, I went to their site and they said that they were starting to ship out orders ... said that the item would ship within 24 hours of the order. I have heard nothing as of the 12th of June. I have email twice and called once (only getting voice mail) and still nothing. This outfit sounds a bit shady.

Have no fears. Ordered mine in early May for a first-of-June shipment. Got it on June 11.

Works like a charm for my Samsung Replenish. Only thing is that nav voice doesn't play through the speakers like phone voice (and how do I know this? because a call came in while it was navigating and the nav voice DID play through the speakers, along with the caller, but stopped as soon as the call was ended. there's GOT to be a way).

Even tried running both the phone and Tom Tom at the same time and the phone works just as good.
Anyone for a slightly used Tom Tom?:loco:

I just wanted to add that I used this suggestion to get a ProClip setup from this gentleman and I am very highly satisfied with the whole process. The communication was great, the price was discounted as mentioned above and shipping was very fast.
If you like the ProClip solution, this is the best way to get a new one from a trustworthy seller.

The main advantage of a dash mount would be when using the phone as a GPS. Otherwise it can just stay in your pocket while you use bluetooth.

A big disadvantage of the dash mounts is that they are meant to fit the naked phone only. You have to remove the phone from any case to use the mount. Some are so tight-fitting that you can't even use them with stick-on screen protector much less a real protective case of any kind.

I am not able to find a pro fit mount for the 2010 Prius. I only see up through 2009 on their website. Any suggestions?

I like the pro "fit" phone holster better than the pro "clip" but cannot find a pro "fit" mount for the 2010 Prius. So I guess I am going to buy the pro "clip" set up. I want to be able to just put the phone in the holster when I get in the car and be done and able to use the iPhone pass through. Everythng is pretty automatic with this set up if you get a pass through cable with 2 in 1 cable usb and aux.

I found this You Tube video very helpful.

I just read the Pro "Fit" Holster miPRO 450 is also compatible with the Garmin Nuvi windshield suction mount.

So it looks like I can buy a pro "clip" garmin mount and use the pro "fit" holster with it.
