    Seriously I bet your Prius is beautiful but common 17,500????? I feel like its 2006 and we are at the peek of the housing bubble!

    Little higher than what I am seeing private party. Talking to someone right now who is selling a 2006 with leather, nav,back up fully loaded 2006 for 15,500. Of course that vehicle has 105k.

    1. The battery no one knows why it isn't holding a charge, bad battery that is all we have been told.
    2. Why $17,500? The dealer offered us $17k in trade (without inflating the new sticker price), if I can pick up another $500 why not.
    3. No where near 105k miles @ 36,500, truely a great car and very well garage kept.
    4. KBB in our area indicates a private sale at almost 18k for whatever that's worth.

    Checking the outstanding condition option (and pugging in all your listed mileage and features), the numbers still don't come close.
    2006 Toyota Prius Base Prices with Options
    Don't know your zip to get the numbers higher.

    Looks like you ought to take the dealer up on their $17k trade offer while you still can.

    Edited my post, we are right at 18 and 90001 (which was in my cashe) California zip was right at 19k (18,9xx).

    No doubt I'm happy with the dealers deal.... I just have about 10 days to try to get a little more.

    Could be a great car for someone.

    PS: not sure why but there seems to be a big difference in Edmunds & KBB values... go figure.

    Does South Carolina not have tax difference for the trade? If it does then you're getting far more than $17500, depending on your sales tax rate, if the dealer is paying you $17000.

    yes when I looked up value of my 2010 , Kelly value was over $3000 more than Edmunds , which is more realistic. Yes I agree with marzprius you can save a lot of $ in Tax if you trade it.

    Just for another data point: we bought a 2008 Prius V (NAV, leather, camera, etc.) with 24500 miles last December in Southern California for $17K. I have monitored prices as gas prices rose, and I recently noticed a 2008 Prius at a deater listed at $19.8K. I think the rise in gas prices has increased the value of used Prius vehicles. Also, I wonder about supply of new cars right now?

    This car is gone... Thx for the input. New BP Pri IV will be here this week or first of next :)

    SC Sales Tax is 7% but has a maximum Sales Tax of $300. on any car, plane, or boat.

    Now the Annual Property Tax is another issue.

    We had a Lexus and a Porsche at one time, the property tax was over $1,500. per year per vehicle to get your tags :(

    The Pri since it is a hybrid is about $400. a year for tags (tax depends on what county you live in).

    New one at msrp and added about $1,000. worth of port options for nothing.

    I think we received a very good deal. We also received the $3k tax credit when we bought the 06 new, so we bought it right.

    I have bought many cars from the same sales manager over the years when he worked for other dealerships (not all Toyota).

    I still think our Pri was in excellent condition with new tires, a new hybrid battery, 36.5k miles, garage kept, etc. There pricing also reflects it.
