    It's been ages since I've been to a Prius meetup. I used to go the the LIPOG meetings and went to at least two NJ meetups.

    The LIPOG group are (were) a nice group of people and the technical knowledge of people like mrbigh is amazing. Getting from Staten Island to Long Island was a hike for me, so I had just assumed that they were still meeting up.

    I won't be able to make this one, but maybe I'll start monitoring PriusChat for local meetups again.

    Mrbigh and Trevor are my friends from the past meetings. Mrbight hosted BBQ once (that I attended) at his home with swimming pool. We are had a great time.

    It wiuld be great to meet new faces including the gen3 owners.

    Did this meet ever happen?

    My hubby and I got our new Prius last week, and we're still learning how to use it. One thing we've been disappointed is with the MPG we've been getting. Nowhere near what we expected, though still good by normal standards. I'd love to learn some NYC area-specific tips on maxing out MPG from local experts.

    Do you have any dealer recs for regular servicing? We bought our Prius out-of-state, so we're at square 1.

    set your tire pressure above book, run top tier quality gas (shell), and learn how to glide/pulse in the prius..you'll get decent MPG's

    I get 42 mpg daily driven in my 06 prius with 87k...and thats with speeds varying from 30-85....If I set cruise to 65 or so, I've gotten as high as 55mpg (altitude believe it or not makes a difference and LI is quite hilly)

    EDIT: meet never happened because no one seemed to give me better ideas when they wanted it to happen.....I am still down to host at my house :)

    depending in the borough you live in, my personal recommendation for service centers is:
    NYC: Manhattan Toyota
    Brooklyn: ?-
    Queens: ?-
    Nassau: Millennium Toyota in Hempstead
    Western Suffolk: Atlantic Toyota in Amityville.
