DRCC Braking

    I doubt he thinks that way as he's wondering why he feels a short "accelleration" when the car is slowing down (i.e. applies the brakes itselfs) and when he pushes the pedal the is a split second of n braking until the pressure on the pedal reaches the brake power the system applied before.

    In the few situation DRCC helped braking I never felt this behaviour. Such a behaviour is noticeable when the car slows down in cruise control mode and I touch the brake pedal what releases it. I'm positive that he felt this behaviour exactly in such a situation where CC was active, DRCC kicked in and by pressing the pedal "not fast enough" a short "non braking" situation could be felt until he pressed the pedal further down. As said I have had at least two such situation on the Autobahn and in both cases I had to slam the brakes. For sure no spilt second of non-braking.

    I think I know what cproaudio is getting at here... I'm not sure if it's he talking about "omg I'm gonna crash" scenarios. It's about letting people know that in order to use DRCC to its full advantage, you have to let it do its thing. Pressing the brake pedal would be like trying to fight VSC. Now, I'm not saying don't press the brake pedal if you know you're going to crash. If I understand correctly, what he's saying is that most people don't realise how hard DRCC brakes so when they go ahead and press the brake pedal, they're pressing it lightly and not hard enough. The difference between DRCC's braking power and the driver's would be enough that it feels like the car "lost" braking power, when really the driver wasn't pressing it hard enough to match the DRCC's braking power.

    DRCC does brake fairly hard (I've had it pull me down to 45km/h from 90km/h on its own i a short distance) but I don't think it's 100% as cproaudio suggests. I would think 100% = pressing the pedal as hard as you can and DRCC doesn't even come close. I'd say 50-70% feels about right (it's hard enough that you notice but definitely not all-out braking)

    Yes, that's what I'm talking about. I've had it brake hard enough that I can hear the brakes hissing. I think it's the brakes pre-charging for when I slam on the brakes. I didn't touch the brakes because there still were plenty of space ahead of me when the car slowed down to canceling out the DRCC.

    I just drove back to San Diego from Vegas last night (320 miles). Hit a lot of pockets where the traffic would just slow down quickly for a while then pick back up again. I can't tell you how much I loved for combination of DRCC and LKA to take the stress and fatigue out of the drive. After you learn to trust it, it just makes things so much easier. At least it did for me. I could actually look around and enjoy the view every once in a while knowing the the feeling of the DRCC slowing down would alert me back to the road.
