Hello, I just bought a 2004 prius with about 148,000 miles. I wanted to put some seafoam in it with a full tank to clear it up and I was wondering if that would possibly harm anything. I figured it's a fuel combustion engine so it probably wouldn't but just thought I'd make sure.

I've used the Seafoam that you inject through the vacuum tube and the throttle body with no ill effects. You look kinda dumb driving down the block in a smoking Prius though. I also wondered how much emissions I put out during the 5 min smokefest. I never used it again for that reason.

That probably didn't do your catatonic converter any good either.

Agreed. I used to run it in my Trans Am and C5 but neither of those had cats most of the time.

I was thinking of putting it through the gas to clean out the lines. It sounds like I should just return it huh?

In the fuel tank it won't smoke as bad as sucking it through the crankcase vacuum so you should be fine. :)

I have used seafoam poured into the gas tank on all my cars and anything with an ice no problems just read the label directions and fill the tank with gas.
