I think it's worth the effort to run separate pair cable from the Motcell pack to each converter, as each converter can draw 60A of 48v. Plus you need to have a 2nd DC circuit breaker for the 2nd converter as well.

I could see sharing the HV cable, because the current is lower given the higher voltage. That HV cable with the kit looks hefty enough, though I would check the gage to make sure they can handle the 24A plus some margin.

I will try to take some pictures this weekend. Unfortunately I am at work with my Altima Hybrid today. Just to be clear, I have the really old kit with the Mottocell batteries. The new kits will be significantly different. Just so it may answer some of your question, My kit is completely under the trunk and the trunk space looks normal. The spare tire well is used for 4kWh of batteries and the rest resides in the Enginer steel box under the truck floor where the black storage comparment is.

    Hi Pbui,

You can ask Jack for access to the Enginer installer's forum where this info is available. If you give a reason for asking such as upgrading to a 8kwh system you may stand a good chance.

Maybe someone could update the Wiki Knowledge on the Enginer website on Appendix 8KWH Configuration to show more than one configuration. One configuration using the Mottcell batteries and another using the RFE battery packs using two 5KW DC converters. Also showing wire gauge and circuit breaker rating. This would save a lot of confusion that this thread is creating.

I am pretty sure that the 8KWH Enginer kit that Jack makes only includes one DC converter. Only the driving range is increased.
