    Hello!

I read a lot in the internet about bringing the Prius into High Speed stealth mode.

But i can't find out, if there is any possibility that I don't have to restart the car, once I want to use the ICE again ( like on the highway )

I think 52mph would be enough for me.

How can I bring the Prius into the high speed stealth mode? I don't want to tell de motor ECU that the car is running out of fuel, because than I have to restart the car I think.

    Thanks a lot

    Manuel

Don't worry, you'll never have to spoof the computer or "trick" it, you just need to do something with the gas pedal.

If you have a 2010 or 2011, while over 45 mph (I suggest a downhill to try it out), you release the accelerator and then ever so slightly redepress it so that the bar comes up no more than 1/3 of the way in the "glide zone".

If you have the HSI above 1/3, you're using fuel, so that's to be avoided.

If you own a Gen II (2004-2009) look here:

Again, all that's with the accelerator, you don't have to stop and start the car to do all this. Some of it may not be available in the first few minutes of operation when the car is warming up, but a couple minutes it's all available to you. The ICE will be spinning the whole time, but to use it for propulsion, simply push harder on the accelerator. Hope that helped.

    Thanks Mike!

    I want to use a Prius 2.
So I want to exchange the original Prius Battery with about 13kWh Li-Ion. So I want to be able to completely turn off the ICE, even if I push the gas pedal very hard. The best solution I think would be a switch to have EV mode ( without any ICE ) or completely normal Hybrid Mode.

    But that isn't possible right?

Hey Manuel, sounds like you're looking for a PHEV conversion kit. I don't know much about them, so probably best if you take a look over here...
