    Weird Air Condition Issue

My 04 prius air condition blows hot air when I am stopped. Seems to work fine when we are moving. Took it to dealership, they said everything checks out.....? Any suggestions?

Thanks.. I checked out that thread, gave me one thing to check, the radiator fan, however, I don't think my outside temperature goes up when we are idle, but I will watch it closely now. Thanks for the thread. I'm new to this, how can you get mechanics interested in your problem?

There is a hybrid specialist in Sanford, Taylor Automotive. It's probably worth the drive.

Warm the engine up and put ac on max cold. Open hood and see if both electric rad fans are moving.

Also if the fans are rotating, are they blowing air out of the front of the car, or are they sucking air in, you can check this with a kleenex. The kleenex should get forced into the grill and stay there.

Inverter coolant pump could be going bad. When mine did I pretty much lost all ac when I was stopped. It is a warranty item.

What is the solution if the fans aren't moving or if they are rotating the wrong way?

Also, I can see one fan pretty easy, its hard to see another, do I need to remove something to see the other?

Is there a way to check if inverter coolant pump is working properly?
