Right. I actually had my son call me on his cell phone while he was sitting in the car. The car rang...I turned the volume down quite a bit from the steering wheel controls, and then I answered the phone.

    It should work...try it again!

Thats my best guess... at least once its set, its set..... not like you have to do it all the time. :p

But if it doesn't work.. don't loose heart.. I"ve watched the technitians go through all the settings with their computer linked to the Nav.. I can't remember if thats an option " I doubt it" but it may be purely a software issue thats easy to fix otherwise.

These silly things are basically computers with software drivers and firmware etc.

Okay, I tried it again and it worked fine. I think I was just punching the volume buttons too quickly. Or maybe I was just punching the wrong buttons. I'm still trying to get used to the difference between the steering wheel buttons on the Gen II and the Gen III.

    Thanks for the tips, folks!

Great!.. your welcome Dave..... yea the buttons are backwards or in different places from the GenII... I still have my gen II's.. it drives me nuts!....

Anyway, I do miss the map button on the steering too.

    But thats another subject.

Hi Denise! When you lowered the ring volume during the "Ring" mode, was the actual call volume affected? I.E., if you increase the volume during the actual call, will the ringer volume go back up?

    Thanks!

Not Denise, but I can tell you that it's a single volume setting, adjusts both voice and ring on the non-NAV, and the setting persists until changed by you.

Thank You Jim!! I tried the volume reduction during the "Ring", and it worked perfectly. I made another call-up and the ringer volume remained at the lower setting! Yea!! But then I was interrupted and did not get to play with call volume to see if the ringer volume setting remained as set. I'll post my findings.

Good Morning Jim!! I am very happy to report that the phone ring volume setting is independant of the call volume setting on my new non-nav 2010 Prius III. I lowered the volume of the ringer during the "ring", answered the call, went to high volume during the call, then hung up. Calling back, the ringer volume remained low, answered, and the call volume was high. Voila!! Thank Goodness!!

This is very good info! An incoming call had me jumping too! I'm going to reduce that ring volume right now. Thanks!

ETA: Yep it worked! Reduced the ring volume down to level 1. Booyah!

That's a great tip! I just about jumped through the roof the first time the phone rang. I'll have to try this tomorrow. Thanks!

Thanks goodness for this thread. I have not been using the bluetooth on mine because I was so loud that I would flinch hard enough to hurt my back. LOL

I just turned my volume down hopefully it stays.
