I purchased my 2011 Prius II in May, after driving a 2010 for an afternoon. I put down $200 for a Silver that was in the country but not delivered. The price was $24,199 plus $200 for "paper work" fee. Now taxes vary, so I'm not including them. That IS right at the current MSRP, however, when my car arrived 2 weeks later it had floor mats/ trunk mat, lighted door sills and chrome bottom door trim, none of which I requested but on the plus side, no extra charge was added for these items. So I came in with a check for $24,399 and drove out with my car, with 3 miles total on the clock. (The $200 down was returned)

went to the only dealership on Saturday that had any Prius in the DC area. They just received 20 Priuses last week. 10 which were already claimed so they were gone instantly. Between Wednesday and Saturday, four more were sold only leaving six. They had a Gen III with nav that I wanted, right exterior color, but i HATED the bisque color.

Got to the table and began talking about price. Guy comes over and tells me there is a $995 market value adjustment price and they were firm about it. Holy hell, good luck with that. I guess having one right now isnt in the cards =[

Well --- that's better than the $2000 market adjustment they tried to pull on me over memorial day weekend :) My favorite was when the guy said "It's not us --- it's Toyota! Blame them!" Yeah, right. BS. I was able to get to another dealer a week later and order one $500 under sticker instead of $2000 over. Shop around. You'll likely have to order one, but at least you'll be paying a fair price.

    yeah i been trying =[

all the other dealerships ive talked to (6 including this one) have sold out their stock for the next two months...

on a side note, coming from a luxury compact sports car, i was pretty surprised how quiet the Prius was going at 70mph despite being a economy car. =D

I haven't been to this forum in awhile. I bought my Prius II last August for $21,111 (not including tax). I only have about 6200 miles on it and the Kelley Blue Book priced it out at $25,530. I'm practically MAKING money on this car!

I feel so sorry for people who missed last year's great prices. Out of curiosity I checked the dealerships in my region for their inventory of Prii. Last year this time there were hundreds on one lot in northern Virginia, and now that same lot only has about 11 cars.

A good friend of mine just leased her 2011 Barcelona Red Prius 3 for $349/mo with $2k down. I leased my 2010 Barcelona Red Prius 4 for $359/mo in Nov 2010, nothing out of pocket, not even taxes. The deals were SO much better last year into early this year. I like the Prius so much that I currently plan on buying at lease end. This is my first car in 3+ decades of driving that makes perfect sense and enjoyable to drive at the same time.

I've never leased before. Do most lease agreements have the option to buy the car at the end of the lease period? If so, I'd guess that a great many of the people who leased during last year's period of great deals would opt to purchase their car --unless Toyota turns things around and by 2013 there's an abundance of Prii again. With rising gas prices and Japan still in a world of hurt from the earthquake/tsunami, what's the likelihood of having a large inventory of Prii in the near future?

Took a few days of checking dealer web sites to find the type 2.

Think I got a decent deal.

Out of curiousity - Just was quoted $1100 above MSRP for a 2011 Prius III with a solar roof. Interesting turn of events when I could have purchased the same car for less than invoice about a year ago.

Hopefully dealers are back to discounting by the time the PHEV's and C's are out. I suspect that we need to hope for some real >50mpg competition to ultimately keep prices under control.

I just picked one up today! Not the color I initially wanted--but such a good deal I couldn't say no. Prius III with nav, and the back bumper protector for $25,500 (didn't include taxes since it varies). Seems like a pretty good deal... =D =D =D

Originally trying to get a III with no nav, but the dealership accidentally exchanged it minutes before I got there, so after being there for a while, they offered this deal that I just couldn't pass especially after talking to a lot of different dealerships.

I drove a ways south of here expecting to get Sams Club pricing at a dealer, only to be told that due to high demand and limited supply, they didn't have to cut any deals. I'm still shopping. I'm trying to sell my 2007 4 runner first for more than I was offered for trade.

Congratulations! A 2011 is a 3 not a III, the Roman Numeral system was only for 2010.

2011 Blizzard Pearl Prius 3 (no Nav) it was just at about 26K (with the nearly $300 dealer fee and Tax&Tag) before but after trade (2K) and a negotiated discount for a total of $3000 it was 23K left OTD to deal with. No rebates down here in this area.

Bought a 2010 Prius here in Canada with AT (Advanced Technology) package. In Canada this includes quite a lot of things, but not Lane Keeping Assist or 17" wheels. Has Nav, leather, solar roof, and everything else. Has 54000 KM. Cost CA$22,000. before taxes. Also includes extended full bumper to bumper warranty till Aug 2014. Does this sound OK? Hope so.
