Got a call from my sales rep this evening....
One Black, One Silver available, Fremont Toyota.

    Phone Aladdin at Cell 1-408-205-3105.

Mention that you heard it from me, because he's really a nice guy, and let me know if you nail one of these beauties!

    Good luck!

I or a moderator should probably nuke this msg after a week at the most.

I called him this morning. Nice guy to chat with. Unfortunately, the cars have a very significant markup. Package 9's with leather - $32,999. Not exactly reasonable.

Anyway, if you've got money to burn, at least you'll know how much they want before you head over there. :)

actually, i bought my Silver/#9/Leather there!
Maybe they're aiming for the high end of the buyer's market with the options, but i paid list for the car and the option 9, and they claimed to not have made extra money on the leather installation.

and if you search on "plusaf", you'll find lots of other folks beating me up for having paid about $34-35k to get the car off the lot, after delivery, taxes, and other fees.

you might want to try negotiating on the leather price, but the rest of the car is not marked up.

and they were a lot nicer people, in general, than at Stevens Creek in SJ.

    imho.

    don't poo-poo a suggested price.

i got mine from there (silver/leather) for less than that quoted price (32k) OTD.

so, if you work at it, you can get it all for msrp and do some research on the leather and you won't get screwed, either.

For the San Francisco Bay Area... Another dealer that seems to be doing the right thing is Piercy Toyota in San Jose. At least their fleet guy is anyhow. Test drive he threw the fob at me and said bring it back when done (after introducing me to the car features). Purchase experience was rocky, primarily due to the stellar allocation method Toyota Corp imposed.

But I ended up with a car (not on my 1st 3 color list but option package level was right) approx 5-6 weeks later than scheduled. Price was as agreed to when order placed. ie MSRP. Trade was kely blue wholesale
for fair condition minus $200 because a power lock and a power windo didn't function. Their policy was kelly fair condition wholesale is starting point.

I'm now trying to figure out how to fill out survey so I can let Toyota Corp
know exactly how much I appreciated their silly psuedo JIT delivery mech
and still keep local dealer from getting low marks.

And yes.... I love the car.... color is irrelevent. Car is tres cool...
