Good on you. Document charges and adminstration charges are included in Canada (You could always print out one from toyota.ca to show that it is indeed included).

Mine was worse. They tagged on another $1,400 and called it PDI (They had the original Freight/PDI listed as $1,475 or whatever the cost is for the Prius but they stripped out the PDI part and simply called it Freight). I asked about the double charge and they said it's standard practice and they charge all their customers that amount. I walked out and bought from another dealer.

This thread brings back fond memories of the Prius Waiting List Support Group that was a very active thread here back in 2008. I saw references to the group on the news and this introduced me to PriusChat. We were on the waiting list for over six months before another dealer put one in front of us and it went home with us that night.

What I learned from my months of reading PriusChat every night to try to speed things up is:

Toyota has a crazy allocation system. You need to be prepared to take what the dealer gets. The more flexible you are the quicker you get your car. Some regions get certain option levels and other regions do not get any cars with that option level. Some dealerships have big allocations and some have a small trickle.

I don't know if Toyota has changed their system since 2008 but it sounds like it has not. They don't actually take orders for cars. The dealer looks at the list of available cars and tries to match you "order" to what it can get its hands on.

Anyway good luck to everyone. You'll love the car when it come in.

I got an email that mine would be delivered last Wednesday. I still don't have it — seven months after ordering.

I've got to give credit to my dealer who ordered a car exactly as I wanted it and somehow told the factory it was ordered and bought even though he asked no commitment from us. At the latest it will be here Monday, August (I have the VIN# and print out of it). I talked to the salesman in early June. I thought it was June 6 or sometime around there. The salesman is amazed we've waited patiently.

We took that approach: wandered around their indoor lot, found our Touring model boxed in behind some other vehicles, changed our color choice on the spot, decided Touring (exterior similar to US V, 17" wheels etc) was for us, went for it. The only issue: it's 12 volt was dead as a door nail: they replaced it.
