2006 prius battery connected backwards

    That's great. No warning lights appeared?

    Did you look at the traction battery state of charge gauge in the MFD? I'm interested what that gauge reads (it shows from one to eight bars, the more bars you see, the greater the SOC.)

    If there was a problem with the hybrid sytem, would the triangle light be on? This light was not on, nor was the MIL.

    If you don't see any warning lights then I think you are good to go, once you have replaced the fusible links.

    I looked at one Toyota dealer's on-line parts website and could not find the part number for the fusible links (the website showed the entire relay/fuse box available, but not the links.) However I would think your local dealer's parts dept could look that up and order it for you.

    Great news! Now I don't need to post the details of my highly simple but highly dangerous charging circuit. :)

    Driving 20 minutes should have been enough to get the traction battery charge (SOC) back to at least somewhere near it's nominal state, even if it was very low when you started. The SOC is indicated on the energy monitor screen of the multifuncton display as an 8 bar graph, with the nominal SOC being around 5 or 6 bars.

    This is an old post, but I wanted to share that I did the same thing on my 1st Gen Prius. Accidentally reversed the polarity when jumping the car.

    It blew the same fuse on mine. The largest amp fuse in the car. This was located in the top right corner of the engine. I didn't realize it was a bolted in fuse, so I unintentionally destroyed it while trying to remove it.

    I then had to remove the entire fuse box assembly and disassemble it to properly replace the fuse.

    Removed the two screws that held the ends in. Threw out the broken remains of the blown fuse.
    Bolted in the replacement.

    Car started no problem.
