Today I hit my front bumper on a large rock while turning the Prius. Admittedly my fault (I'm really beating myself over it) but c'est la vie I suppose.

Any idea on what kind of repair I'm looking at with just the damage in the picture? Will the whole bumper or bumper cover need to be replaced? And does anyone have any suggestions for repair shops Toyota certified or non in the CT/NY/PA area.

Thanks for any feedback! Id really appreciate it.

You could check local Toyota used parts from a boneyard parts yard!. The bumper is a pretty easy thing to replace, expecially if you find a blue one!

It does not look all that bad - just the area below the fog lamp. I dinged that area on mine - my daughter left a bike rack in the driveway - I was able to use a hairdryer to pop the plastic bumper out to just about normal. Since the bumper is plastic you do not need to worry about rust so a bit of touch-up paint might cover it. It would not be perfect, but given that it is low to the ground it might be acceptable.

Problem with the abs bumper is that they stretch and/or crack and can't really be repaired. If nothing is damaged behind the shroud, a body shop will probably want to order a new plastic cover to paint and replace. In CA around $1000.
