A few years ago I was looking for a Gen II Prius wiring diagram because I wanted to see how the Aux input got into the radio. Long story short, I found a European (French?) Prius site that had wiring diagrams in PDF format. After reading your post I did a quick search to see if I could find this site, but I came up empty. Perhaps another PCer reading this will recognize what I am describing and post a link. Good luck with your project.
Thanks for the reply. I got some repair manuals from one of the sites where i have to pay $11 to get them. But my main aim as of now is how the Engine ECU will depend on the other ECUs and the how the engine control unit can be controlled by the inputs from the other ECUs. Wish I will get some more help from this forum.
The Hybrid ECU is the main brain the car. It controls everything including the Engine ECU in the GenII. There are no published schematics for the internal workings of these ECU's however, with years of sniffing, I am sure you can come up with something to put inbetween. There are schematics on the toyotatech site. They used to be in nice PDF form, but have since changed to this stupid java based display. I was able to run a virtual machine with a ginormously big resolution "monitor" to display most at the same time, then screen capture and rearrange into high resolution bitmaps. You can do the same, just buy a subscription. I bought a 1 day and a 3 day, and it took me 3 days to get it all copied over.
