    Ok dudes,
I have been looking everywhere on how to get a double DIN pioneer AVIC Z120BT into 2006 Prius. It does not exist as I know it. So I bit the bullet and looked for a place that could do it. No one wanted to touch it with a twenty foot pole. It was especially difficult finding a specialized place in the mountains of Alabama. I finally found a place in Boaz, Alabama called Extreme Concepts that thought they would take a stab at it. It came out great with all original dashboard components in place. The biggest challenges where getting the angle right, Making sure the tilt worked on the head unit and making some kind of aftermarket kit that made it fit between the top and the little pocket door underneath. I suggested they he put the Iphone cable thru the pocket so it could hide the cord and phone if needed. I haven’t noticed any interference with it the way it is. He also added some great components speakers up front with a four channel in back powering a sealed 12 inch box. It was not really necessary to get huge power because of the design of the cab and not wanting to lose some fuel economy (not sure if this is true).

It looks great. That's how I've got mine installed myself. Do you know what face plate kit they used? That looks different than the Scosche kit I used. See my signature for the DNX6960 thread.

Im not sure of the kit but they told me it was a generic 2 din and then they put the side pieces together with a cutter. Your Prius is primo spotless. I wish I could go as far as you did but Ive already been told by the boss(wife) this is the last upgrade. I ended up putin Dynamat in the front floor and doors and adding a MB Quart 12 inch sub with the a MB Quart 4 channel amp.

He comment was "you better drive it till the doors drop off". With 125,000 miles I think that will be the case.

Ok, if he cut them up that's a custom piece then.

I deal with it. I move my head by leaning my body. I set the brightness higher. It only happens once in awhile and it doesn't bother me. DNX6960 has anti-glare coating so it helps.

If you want to push back the unit, you may need to drill custom holes in the metal bracket that the unit is screwed into. I think you should consider a hood first.

That install looks great. I am getting mine installed in about 2 weeks. I really like that generic kit. I have a couple of questions? Do you notice any change in your gas mileage did you lose any MPG? I was thinking getting either the Z120bt or the Z130bt or the Kenwood 9980HD or even the Alpine ina w910. Which one is better? i cant decide the reviews on the 130 are not that good so it plays a factor in my decision. They are have pluses and minuses. I dont want to lose any MPG. I am not changing the speakers they are stock. I am adding Xm and the backup camera and ipod cable.

A mild to medium stereo system won't noticeably drop your mpg. I had a hard time noticing a drop when I ran 1900 watts. I've dropped down to 1000 and everything is still fine.
