    Dear PriusChat Colleagues:

Again this year, Evan Fusco and I invite you to join us in the PriusChat Fantasy Football League. A number of us who played last year got to know each other a little better and had a great time. I hope many players from last year will be back and maybe one or two new players. Sign-up will be first come first serve. If there is enough interest, we can expand the league by a couple of teams.

I have set up a free (but custom) NFL league. As it was last year the league is called "High Voltage Running" and the password is Synergy. The link below should take you directly to the site to sign up. You will need to register with NFL.com if you are not already a member. Its free and easy to do. You just need to create a name for your team and the system will get you started.

If you have never played fantasy football before, it can be a lot of fun and a good way to make the football season even more exciting. It is also a nice way to connect with some members here at PriusChat. You can spend as much or as little time with your team each week as you want. I’ve found that time spent is rarely correlated with success – but you can prove me wrong. Speaking of winning, once we have a group signed up we’ll figure out a good prize for the winner.

We have 7 open slots and we need to be filled before September 5 (labor day). Please sign up today!

    Bob (Team Hodags)

My name is Minh (Show Me Them TD's) i am new to these forums but love FF. When will the draft order be set? Just curious so I can do some mock drafts.

    Thanks for joining Minh!
Danny, I had trouble at first too, but if you just go to NFL.com and search the league you should be able to find it.

My soon to be 12 year old son won, despite the fact we were half way around the world and couldn't watch more than one game a week. It can take as much or as little time to play as you want. Even if you're just a mild fan of NFL this is a great way to get you engaged in all the games and all the teams to make an even more enjoyable experience.

    Join up!

*BTW, moved to Fred's House of Pancakes.

After a one year hiatus, I have returned to PriusChat fantasy football to dominate the teams vying for the cellar!

    Welcome back!!

Come on folks, we still need at least 2, but preferably 4 more players. No prior experience needed, sign up is easy, playing is as easy or hard as you like. We must have more fantasy fans than this on Priuschat than this!

We're even hitting up Danny to contribute a prize from the Priuschat shop for the winner if you need an incentive.

Indeed! I operate a busy forum that has somewhat less traffic and many fewer members that Priuschat. I note that 95% of the members are moms with young kids, as the forum topic is child passenger safety. Even so, we have a full field of 12 for our league, including 3 token men that got beat pretty bad last year. Granted, the prizes might have been enough incentive to fill out the league this year;-)

Yep, my 11 year old son won the Priuschat league last year--testosterone is not benefitial in winning at fantasy football!

    Yea!

We have our set of 10 teams so if your not in but wanted in, sorry. Thanks to all who signed up and I'm looking forward to our interactions.

I'll send all additional updates and information using the NFL site rather than PC. Thanks to the Mods and others who helped us get our team again this year.

Well all right! so glad we have a full league. Now to figure out who I want at the top of my draft list. My son already has his top 20 or so set, I made it through maybe 8, but am never sure of the best strategy or how deep to go.

Looks like draft order is random and draft is auto right? Same as my league. It's even tougher to do pre-draft ranking adjustments when you don't know what order you draft. Too bad they don't let you do a random order ahead of the draft.

Yea, I think it's all random order....if you get the last pick in the first round you get the first pick in the 2nd round sorta thing.

    Absolutely we can do that.

Darwood, if we can get one more who wants to play I'll expand the league to 12 and we will get you in...

Any takers? We could use one more!

I just want to note that I am praying to the draft gods this year and wish you all the misfortune I had last year.

In my nfl.com pool last year, I had two picks that performed as expected for their round. All the others underperformed their round by a lot. Many sat on the bench, were injured, were dropped and never picked up on waivers because they sucked.

I got Aaron Rodgers with my #1 pick (I think I was #4 overall). He was solid for a first rounder, even for being out a couple weeks. After that, it was the worst draft ever. #2 DeAngelo Williams, #3 Brandon Marshall, #4 Beanie Wells. It got even worse after that and I ended up replacing all my later draft picks except for #8 Bears Def (I dropped them on the bye and luckily got them back before they ramped it up). Thanks to my dismal early season performance, I got dibs on some decent waiver pickups and salvaged four wins. If only I had been smart enough to get Vick or Hillis on waivers early on. Still, I'd like at least a few players that live up to their draft round expectations or maybe even one that outperforms this year. I'd blame it on the auto draft, but if I drafted myself it could have been worse.
