Well after reading all the follies on this chat forum regarding the dealership experience in the prius quest here is mine. After test driving a loaner prius in the dealership fleet (over 100 vehicles) and many are prius. You own a prius and if one is available in the fleet your loaner is a prius. Now comes strange walking back into the dealership my salesperson says after i want to talk price, we don't have any great finance deals right now on the prius so you should check elsewhere for a better finance deal. WOW. Followed by prius are in short supply no new ones on lot but 7 inbound advising packages and was almost apologetic msrp price ( end of march 2011) I then advised would not pay any extra charges even if someone tries to pay more and get an inbound car away from me.They say that will never happen here and msrp only charged because of supply problems every other vehicle in supply below msrp. I put down a small refundable deposit on my prius and picked it up 3 weeks later everything on the car was explained about a 45 minute demo, told to read the owners manual and call their cell with any questions or how to questions to be walked through. I was also told a technician and salesperson both went through the car to make sure everything was set and working properly( sure i bet lol) darn if after 6 thousand miles no complaints or problems Strange place that dealership much different than others i visited in the past years.......

They said don't take our loan, we don't price gouge, we explain and demonstrate the vehicle before you leave.Thoroughly go over car to make sure it is right and set everything up for you. I also was told the F&I person will try and sell you things you might not want or find cheaper elsewhere. I also got 2 telephone calls asking me how the cars was and any problems 2 weeks after purchase and 1 month after purchase. I have bought 12 new cars over the last 30 years and never had any experience this strange meaning nice honest and professional. I looked at several other makes and even other toyota dealerships. Lets see market adjustments, keep the deal in one place including financing and extended warranty. extra wheel warranty needed, let me show you this model not the one i'm inquioring about. 5 second demo on delivery, no calls how is the car. Their model is better than any other in the segment. Bla Bla Bla. To get none of the usual crap was so strange and every question with a complete answer. They know their products well and no incorrect answers to my dozens of questions i knew the answers to before i asked. If you don't find all that strange today you must live in OZ.

Ahhh, that makes more sense to me now.

The dealership I went to was pretty straight forward and pretty nice about the whole thing. They did try to sell me extra stuff, but they weren't very pushy about it.

And after they detailed my car, the sales person sat in the car and answered every question he could about it.

Yes it is surprising when people do the right thing. But if you are selling the best, there is no need to gloss it up. This dealership obviously knows this.

Yes they do know what they are doing and the staff seems to be well schooled in manners, speech, honesty, and professionalism. They all seem happy and have positive friendly personalities. They even said positive things about every other make of car i was considering. 2k1Toaster you said it best they know what they are selling and let the vehicle and test drive sell the car. Hell they did not even boast about their models. Sell and they do i heard a sales person on his cell say they had a fair month selling just under 600 cars last month. Feb. in northern Illinois with the earthquake in japan and hard winter i'd say they did ok LoL.
