Mine are still working fine, car is 7+ years old and about 1230,000 miles.

You have a rouglhly 5 year old car with only 50,500 miles on it? Wow. Is it your daily driver?

Sorta... I had 2 cars and alternated. When I bought the Prius, I had a pretty long commute (~24 miles each way). I then moved to WA where my daily commute went down to <10 miles/day and then I left my job so the daily driving went down a bit more. The amount of driving is back up for me though... I'm at ~56K miles now and a bit past 5.5 years.

I sold my former 04 350Z (bought Labor Day weekend of 03) in July 2011 with ~53K miles on it instead of shipping it. When I bought the Z new in WA state, I had 2 cars as well and very short drives, helped by the fact that my work group eventually moved to virtually across the street from my apartment, so I usually walked.

24 miles is not a "long commute"

Still, that isn't a lot of miles, I had a commute about the same and still racked up miles faster than that. And I usually took my motorcycle to avoid traffic tie ups. Sometimes I wouldn't even take the care once a week.

24 miles, one way is about the longest I ever had. I had another ages ago that was about that distance.

You should've seen my mom's 96 Camry which was bought new. When it was totaled after being rear ended in early 08, I don't think it even had 70K miles on it.

My 94 Camry was traded in in 2001 with 238,000 miles on it! ;-)

Can't remember my longest commute, wasn't a long one either, maybe 35-40 miles. Shortest one was when I lived above the restaurant I worked at. 2nd shortest was maybe, maybe 50 yards. Because of the location of the parking lots to drive my car actually would have involved a longer walk from door of apartment to car, and then car to door of work than just door of apartment to door of work. And yes, I was still occasionally late for both jobs.

My 2005 has just started having the passenger side headlight go out. I can cycle them off/on and it comes right back on. I'm gonna have to get it fixed. I have 243K on my car. Only other fix has been a front left wheel bearing got noisy so it was replaced. This car has kciked butt so bad its not even funny!! Just maintain it and it will roll!!!!

Actually, now that I think about, the longest commute I've had was ~31 miles, one way, but it was for a temp job.

My mom's 07 NAH (bought near the end of Feb 08), the last time I checked didn't even have 18K miles on it yet.

My '05 Prius driver's side HID headlight just started having the problem at 106,000 miles. I only use my headlights when it's dark or during bad weather.

2005 with 101,000 miles. I do use my HID as daytime running lights, its worth it to me.

Yesterday one of HID headlights was out, but today they are fine. I guess they can play this on again off again trick before they give up entirely. I don't see any color shift. I'll wait for another event before I replace.

I've watched all the YouTube videos and plan to do this job myself with OEM Philips D2R bulbs. I particularly liked Luscious Garage video, but I suspect her hands are smaller than mine.

My 2004 model, early production, has 154K on it, and both left and right headlights have recently failed with the same signature: light goes out, but it will go on again if you turn the switch off and on again. Left headlight stays on for about 30 seconds (it started failing about a month ago), and right one stays on for about two minutes (just recently failed). I used to have the switch on all the same, using them as daytime running lights.

I replaced both bulbs with Philips D2R from Amazon, and they still fail with the same signature. I will have to try new ballasts next, I guess, although I would like to know if replacing with halogen is more economical, or even possible.

04 Purchased in Nov 03, original one on the passenger side ( the lens is yellowed to hell, though). Driver side had to be replaced in 2007 after my Prius decided to headbutt a Trailblazer.

    146k miles.
