Yeah I'll have to see it in real life but I generally don't like large areas of chrome. It has to be thin/small and subtle (e.g. door frame). The SE fogs look ok and match well.

The SE's grille really does highlight the fact that the hood sits a few cm higher because of the body-colour grille. The chrome grille on the other models (except L) draw your eyes away from that height difference.

Well we knew the reclining rear seats would go but I didn't expect the rear centre headrest to become fixed nor lose the rear sunshade (loved that feature on our 2002 Camry XLE).

I can only assume it's to make way for the Avalon (now that they're probably not going to kill it). Otherwise, what's the incentive to move up to the Avalon if the Camry XLE already has these features? memory seats and maybe a better JBL audio system is all I can think of

camry gained a lot of features... you cant have it all... today's camry has some important features that are missing in 2011 ES.

Entune, Premium nav and leather/ultrasuede seats? Though to be honest, the premium (semi-aniline) leather seats on the top model ES is realllllly nice; the standard leather not so much.

I guess I was hoping it'd have more tech toys but the premium HDD nav probably took up most of the chunk of money. It's not cheap.

Entune particularly... loaded ES can be as much as 15k more expensive than XLE.

Well Lexus already has Enform, an expanded version of Safety Connect. What makes you think Entune won't make it over to the Lexus line?

Yes but you can get stuff on the ES350 that you can't on the Camry XLE such as a panoramic roof, semi-aniline leather, Mark Levinson surround sound system (that has to be worth just as much as Entune. It's a good system), power driver's cushion length adjustmentt, wood/leather steering wheel, leather-wrapped overhead assist grips. In the US, you can get DRCC and PCS as well.

it will eventually make it into Enform, but not right now. So right now, all Lexus buyers are buying inferior technology cars compared to ... Camry.

The Camry should be the same as the previous generation. Looks really solid.

    Hope this isn't a repost:
The New 2012 Camry (Japanese Spec) | The Truth About Cars

I didn't realize that JDM launches were so minimalist. I knew the Camry isn't popular in Japan but interestingly, all JDM Camrys will be hybrids. This is similar to the Civic Hybrid being only Civic in Japan that Honda decided upon awhile ago. Not sure if the latter is still in place.
