    Hey everyone!

I'm new to the forum, just sold my Camry hybrid for a Prius and I'm quite happy with the decision!

I've been poking around the forums and internet for any information about outfitting my '04 base model with air conditioned or ventilated seats, and haven't found too much info pertaining to the subject, does anyone here have any experience with the matter?

So far all I've been able to find seats by Recaro, the Ergomed ES specifically

But it seems as though it's just ventilated, that is to say it just pulls air from the cabin, any thoughts on seats with actual air conditioning?

    I appreciate any advice!

I know Katzkin offers heated and ventilated seats as an option when you upholster your car with leather or suede. I haven't looked too much into but perhaps that's a good place to start?

Arghh  apparently they dont offer that for the prius, just heated seats. Would anyone have any input on potentially running some tubing from the exisiting ac vents into the seats and making some preforations?

Good thing you don't live someplace hot.

I wonder if there might be some kind of cooled seat pad that would help you. Some helmets used in car racing have a built-in cooling system; maybe something like that could be adapted to an ergonomic seat pad?

wow that was quick! That's a bummer. I'm sure if you're handy enough, you could make it yourself although I would recommend it with perforated leather. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with perforations in cloth, no matter how small they are.

Toronto can be stupidly humid. The smart didn't handle it too well (no heat-absorbing glass and a black ext w/ black int didn't help either)

Yeah, after just discovering the vents under the seats I'm considering running some tubing from that...

Oh the rear seat heater ducts?

Air goes through those vents if the climate control is set to "FOOT" (or any combination thereof).

So... you're not gonna use the AUTO feature in the winter, I assume?
