That switch seems to be part of the production model of the plug in Prius. It seemed the lack of one was a major complaint of the people who had the Prius for their 8 weeks.

^^ Yep. I did not clarify, but I was thinking that the conduct of each toggle would be modifed so that hybrid mode favored ICE efficiency even while SOC is high, while EV mode would continue up to limits of ~ 30 Kw battery discharge or < 60 mph.

I like the new exterior updates too. The grill looks bigger but the opening area is the same. That made it look more aggressive. The fog lights look better there too.

I like it. I've always liked the fog light location on the GenII. You have more options as far as upgrades go.

I find it so similar the the regular Gen III that it's hardly noticable.

I'm with Hill -- looks like a G3 to me. Interesting that Toyota did not decide to make the plug-in aspect a rolling message; after all, that was supposed to have been the reason why Prius beat Honda in HV game, by making its car stand out as an HV.

Guess the pundits were wrong. Again

    Cost
    Interior Volume loss
    Energy Economy loss

These are the trade-offs with adding battery girth and weight. So far Toyota has cancelled #2 and #3. Pretty amazing.

I Like Everything but the MFD Screens. Never liked them on the Gen 3. In my Gen 2 I can see my info without having to put on reading glasses.
In our Gen 3 I have to Waite to park, put on my glasses than see what I wanted to see an hour ago.

I am still missing the key bits of information, EPA blended range, energy usage, and price. The usage is not very important, we can guess blended will be in the 90s mpge. Does anyone have a clue when this information be released? Or did I miss part of the press release.

It seems that all we found out is toyota as assumed improved the packaging of the battery pack and support structure, reducing the weight and volume. This is a step in the right direction. Does anyone know how the kwh/kg, kwh/litre compare to the leaf and volt battery packs?

My sentiments exactly, even thought I'm dropping out for colors and no sunroof--- The Gen III and the PHV design is a masterpiece. Function and form married together, Honda was knocked out of the ring and is still out for the count.
People have to keep in mind that Toyota sculpted the prius to cut drag, hold five people, look sporty, be reliable, make money, hold value, save money, navigate, keep it's cargo alive and answer the dam phone, It's a tall order ---The car looks great!
