So the wife and I went and visited a friend Saturday-Sunday in Atlanta and we had our University of Alabama car flags on the Prius all weekend. Well apparently the flags angered a local and someone busted out the Prius' passenger side tail light. :(

My question is this: Would one of the tail light assemblies that is sold on Ebay Motors/Amazon be an exact OEM fit? I would like to avoid purchasing directly from Toyota as I imagine the price will be a good bit more than the ~$100 I can buy it for online.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Atlanta is a horrible place (I live here I think it gives me the right to say so).

    Sorry that happened.

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car. What I have seen with these sorts of parts is that it is a bit of a crapshoot - you may get lucky and have an exact fit - you do definitely get what you pay for. If possible take a look at a vendor that will allow you to return it if it winds up being unacceptable.

I would not think of an intense Alabama/Georgia rivalry but I guess there is college football. I'm a Red Sox fan and have a small static cling pair of Sox in my back window. I make sure to pull it off when I'm parking in New York City. It is not right, but in the future you may want to pull down your Bama stuff when you venture into enemy territory.

Yes, you can find individual OEM taillights on ebay.

The estimate to replace the left side tail light assembly on my Prius with an oem part is $349.00.

Yeah, either get an OEM replacement cheaply on eBay or upgrade to the Valenti full LED lights. Group buy ends on September 15th! The 2012 refreshing won't get full LED tails either.

That's exactly what my local deal quoted me as well.

I've looked on Ebay in hopes of finding the OEM part but have had no luck. Can anyone else help locate one? I would GREATLY appreciate it!

After having the Toyota dealer parts dept. up my quote to over $200, I went to Google and typed in "passenger side brake light 2004 prius" and got plenty of sources to buy, many with free shipping. Cost is less than $100. I would rather buy a factory part, but at that price, I am going to take the gamble

Another option would be a used part. I did a quick search and found this place that has one for $144.
