    Hey Patrick,
    yeah, that's what i mean :D :D
I smelled the "burn fumes/fuel" out of the exhaust (whatever the Chemistry term it is) LOL  :boink:

I'm not saying it's NOT fuel system problem, but I just don't understand how car can start having the "fuel" problem during hwy driving out of the sudden...and shut off my car completely.

Broken or blocked fuel pump or fuel pump driver circuit open caused by moisture in the pump connector cabling ( connector seals defective)

OKay I"m back now...PROBLEM STILL NOT SOLVED....
But did get a new update...

After the car has been sitting by the house for about 2 weeks....I started it up....it started up....drove around the block 3 times...HV battery charged to the GREEN...

...shut her off and let her cool down...(decided to take her to the store 5 mins away)
..drove her to the store (no problem)
..started driving her home and ALMOST when i got home...I feld "something" giving out in the engine and felt a loss of power (gas pedal was not making the car go any faster)..
...AND my HV battery started to deplete VERY QUICKLY till it ran to the last bar and the car stopped!
...so I had to go grab my truck and tow her home 1 block away :p

I ran my OTC Nemisys scanner while car was running and scanned the fuel pump..and it's showing that it's working (so I doubt that my fuel pump is bad).

Someone told me that I could have a "faulty": 1.) Cam or Crankshaft Position Sensors...(what are those)? where do I locate them to test them out?
Is that a possibility that they can cause this problem of mine?

    :: PROBLEM SOLVED:::

"problem been solved, figured I'd update the thread for FUTURE help to members who will be hunting for the answer as I was"

Took the car to the dealer.
Dealer updated the ECU to a newer version software...car still stalls. (so it's NOT ecu)

Dealer did more diagnostics and found out that my FUEL PUMP sometimes works...sometimes doesn't..(for most part doesnt)...which would cause the engine to stall..since MG1 can't run the engine for long time (which drains the HV battery FAST)... :D :D

So replaced the WHOLE tank with fuel pump (since I've been told u cannot replace just the fuel pump...it comes only with the gas tank)...

    Problem fixed...and car drives again :D :D

Thank you everyone who participated and gave suggestions.
    Thanks to all.
    Once agian....LOVE this forum! :D :D

Before the problem occurred, did you ever drive the car until it halted after running out of gas? Were you in the habit of topping off the tank?

I had almost the same problem. 2006 Prius, 180k miles, filled gas 2 days and 300 miles earlier. Started normally, sat in driveway 10 minutes, then backed out. Got 50 feet and saw MIL, brake, ABS, triangle. Pushed it into driveway, tried starting several times until HV battery down to 1 purple bar. Saw P3190 consistently, P0131 once. After 2+ days at dealer, he tells me the fuel pump is bad. Estimate is $1600 - for tank, install, 2 hr diag, spark plugs, and throttle body cleaning. I felt like offering a ski mask and getaway car! I'm inclined to go shopping the junkyards this weekend...
Comments? Price history with other dealers? Suggestions? One more time, which Toyota parts departments sell parts at more reasonable prices?

With that many miles, yup, I'd check the junkyards.

LOL...I would NOT recomend the dealer "raping" you for $1600
spark plug replacement & throttle body cleaning can be done by you (VERY EASY) anyone can do it.....

Fuel tank replacement (costed me $630 installed including parts & tax)...it ALSO can be done if you find a tank assembly from a junk yard...I heard it's easy to do aswell, but I just didn't have time...so let the dealer do it..
