I just put down a deposit in an 06 yesterday and was told the wait would be about three months. Im curious about how many others are on a list, how long you were told you would have to wait. where you are on a list, and finally how often you are communicating with your salesperson? I'm just wondering what I am in for.

I'm not sure where exactly I am on the list -- I got put on in the beginning of October and was told it would be three months, though in my most recent communication, he told me it might be in Mid-December and there could be issues holding it for me. (grumble)

I called him earlier this month with information on packages and pricing as I seem to be a step ahead of him getting my information here, but other than that, I haven't spoken with him since I placed the order.

I have been on the list since mid-September. At the time of putting down a deposit for my 05 Prius, i was told it would be a 3-6 month wait. Then i was offered a Prius (neither my color nor my package choice) in Mid-october. I passed it. I called up my dealer shortly after Toyota updated their website to let him know what my package choice for an 06 Prius would be. He said that he figured i might be able to take possession sometime in mid- to end of January.
My wife and I have been waiting patiently, and hopefully it will be a sweet end to the wait (meaning to say i get both my choice of color and package).
The 06 really looks good in the pictures posted in another topic on this forum.
I am really excited now !!!

I'm second on the list for an 06, package 4, with the Toyota dealer in Centralia WA. (Thank you, Henry Drygas, for the advice!)

No real idea when I'll get it, but I requested pickup on or after 1/1.

I voted no to that because I'm taking delivery in '06... I'm sure others are as well.

I've been on three "pre-order" lists since early Oct. Made it official with one of them by paying deposit last Wed. First in line for what I want in late Dec. (they'll hold up to about 10 days) or first week in Jan.

If it comes in around Christmas, that last week in Dec. will be one grind. Instead of gaining the traditional 15 pounds the average American puts on between Halloween and New Year, I may double that.

I've been on a list since Sept. Told I was 4th or 5th and expect an 06 in Jan. I'm in northeast PA.

I've been on a waiting list for an '05 since August. The one I wanted never came so I was put on a "new" waiting list for an '06. God knows when I'll finally get mine.

Ordered a package #7 in Classic Silver Metallic.

I got on the list here in central ohio on Oct 7th for a pkg 7 silver (second choice, seaside pearl or driftwood). I was told between jan and march 06. I got a call about a week ago confirming that unless they get allocations equivilent to 05' it will probably be closer to march than january and I am about half way on the wait list.

Been on list since late October! Salesman called on November 8 to take key information (Classic Silver 2006 Package #4). They indicated 4 to 6 months, and I'm to be updated every month. I had to explain the new packages to the saleman (they were using 2005 colors and packages). This works out pretty good since I owe on another vehicle until the end of March. I think that I am getting the car at MSRP (dealer usually charges $1600 over that because they can), but I have nothing in writing. I just hope everything works out. In the meantime, I'm spending a lot of time here learning from experienced and new owners.

I put down a deposit for an 05 on August 26th. At that time I was 4th on the list for my local dealer who gets two Prius per month. It is a small dealership, but good to work with. They know very little about the Prius, and I provided them on information on 06's. I'm now #1 on the list, and an 05 came in last week that was not my color/option package. I passed on the car explaining to the dealer why, and confirming that I would stay in the #1 slot. The next allocation comes out next week and I hope is an 06 with my color/options package choice.

Is this just waiting for an 06? I bought an 05, after having a deposit down for 3 days, and I had my choice of colors and packages (3 or 4) within a week.... Is it just becuase I'm in a large market (Denver) or is it really that bad in other markets?

Had my prius for 6 weeks (and 2800 miles) and loving it....

I put in my order and put down my deposit in mid-September and got a call a week and a half later from the dealer who had the color/package car I originally wanted (2005 Black Package #6) but I had left for vacation without updating him that I was interested in waiting until January 2006 to take delivery and take advantages of the tax credit (and use the last few months of the year to finish completely paying off some back-taxes and dental bills and save up more of an additional deposit to put down when I actually make the purchase).

I figured that since I was waiting about 4 months minimum additionally for this car of my dreams, I'd rather shell out the extra $ and get a 2006 fully loaded instead of a 2005. :)

I expect to have the car sometime in early 2006...January or February would be ideal, but I'm not an impatient person and honestly wouldn't mind waiting until March or April or even May/June, should it take that long to come in (though I sure hope it doesn't take that long!). :D

And I wasn't originally given a time frame for how long it would take...I'm working with a dealer who is also a client of my husband's, so he's helping us out quite a bit on this purchase. We've been in contact with him, but with another month to go until 2006, it's hard to say how long the wait will be from there.

I'm in So. Cal. I put my name on a list mid Nov. I was around number 40. They said they get 10 - 12 a month, which puts me three to four months. I'm hoping some drop off, are on other lists, or are more picky than I am. :D

I ordered Barcelona Red, prefer gray interior, but ivory is OK, will take package 7 or 8. Would consider other colors, too.

How many people are on multiple lists? Maybe someone good with the survey feature could put one up?!? I'm thinking options would be 1 list, 2 to 3 lists, 4 to 5 lists, greater than 5 lists.

I am on the waiting list with a $500 deposit. I was told to expect the car around March. The sales said there are about 35 people on the list when I put in my deposit 2 weeks ago.

I plunked down a $500 refundable deposit for an '06 on Nov. 17 in Bakersfield, CA, asking for a package not initially allotted to this region (#4), and was told that it could take up to 120 days, though the salesman said it often took only 90. I don't know where I am on their list.

Early September for a Classic Silver package #8. I'm first on the list for an '06. THey said I may get it in mid December, but most likely in mid January.
