Help! My dash lights are on: brake, abs, vsc, & (!) I lifted the car off the ground to inspect whats going on & notice the front pass tire spins when I put it on drive without pressing on accelerator but the driver side doesn't. Also when I look at display the battery is giving power and you see the tires spining on display in car, that also happens when I am at a stop light, I have to put the car in neutral or park for display to stop showing the battery giving the tires power. I had also notice when the car was off the ground that when I press the accelerator the ft driver side most of the time does't want to spin. Also while im driving I notice the ft driver tire locks when braking but it feels like the ft pass tire is not really braking takes longer to brake now so im not driving it pass 28mph, thats if I drive it. Does anyone knows what can be causing this?

just drive it... i hate to be rude but you obviously know nothing about the car.

since the front end isn't a limited slip differential, all the torque can be fed through one wheel. the car is freaking out because you're basically asking the car to go out of control. it doesn't know better... it's seeing only 1 wheel spin while it clocks the wheels many times per second to keep that from happening. all control all the time. even steering is computer controlled in a sense... if you're going around a corner and you slip, you're car will help steer and kill power so it can control what the wheels are doing by your input via steering wheel and pedals. There is traction control, and vehicle skid control. they work very well on everything except gravel, and really rocky dirt roads... mud, ice, snow, and normal dirt roads are all good

in the genIII prius (2010+) the car will use the rear brakes to help control you.. it's also said to be less intrusive and more helpful with it's traction and skid control. it's said to be the only car with rear brakes that are larger than it's front brakes.

when you're at stop lights.. it's normal.. that's the electronic idle. press the brake more.

you really shouldn't be doing this (lifting it in the air).... you can run down the battery and kill some very expensive parts.

put it on the ground, drive it around, and tell us what it does... or if lights go off or stay on.. etc... restart it a few times to help clear codes.. if you want to, disconnect the 12v battery for a few mins to help clear codes.

also... the car may need to charge up the battery when you're at a light. keep your foot down where it should be and let the ICE spin up to charge things...

there is a lot to learn if you search the forums. go into forums tab and search on the top right... i think it's on your screen currently if you're reading this...

i'm sure others will chime in... i'll post more later

A scangauge is needed to read the trouble codes, preferably a Toyota scangauge to get all the proprietary sub-codes. Take it to a dealer for diagnosis and tell us what the codes are.

When the car is in drive and under 7 mph, you will see the car giving power to the wheels to simulate "creep". Similar to normal cars in drive. This is normal.

If your seeing those warning lights, then I'd double-check your 12v battery voltage first. If it's too low, it can be signs of a failing 12v battery, which can then induce those warning lights (computers don't like low voltages)

As for only one wheel spinning, check your brake pads. Perhaps the driver front brakes are touching the wheel a lot more then the passenger side. Perhaps the passenger side is very worn down?
