Thank you fotomoto. How cool does it keep the car? Pretty consistent with the outside temp? Or not quite that good.

I hate when they bundle stuff. I think it might be cool to have a sunroof but I don't really care for the navigation system since I get the same thing on my phone. It seems you ought to be able to get what you want and not get what you don't want.

It doesn't keep the interior the same as outside temps because of all the sunlight still streaming in but obviously it's way better than a locked up tight vehicle. Window tinting helps here.

Some have said it's similar to leaving all your windows cracked in a regular car except you don't have to deal with dust and security issues.

Maybe you can go back to that dummy sales droid and see if he can activate it (car must be on before selecting button). Come back in an hour or so and get into another parked car/prius sitting beside it and then get into the solar prius. If the droid was successful and the dealership isn't located along a loud, busy highway, you should be able to hear the fan running while leaning near the front right windshield wiper.

One other thing: don't let the droid get in the car first to turn it on as they are trained to do. As long as you don't power up, it will continue to run the fan even after you open the door to enter. That way you can experience the air flow.

That's a great idea! The "sales Droid" :) said they didn't have any solars at the moment. I think I'm going to try a different dealer but I will definitely give that a try.

On a 2012, you will get navigation and Entune as standard equipment on the Three and Four so your base price for the Three or Four will increase but the package price for the SR will reduce to take the absence of the Toyota navigation system into account.

Yeah, fotomoto has a good idea. The only way to experience it is to park two side-by-side and have one with the solar panel ventilation system running and then come back in an hour (or go test drive another Prius) and then see the difference in temperature.
