2005 Fully Loaded Prius with 4kWh plug-in conversion from Boulder Hybrid conversions. This car was converted in Jan 2011, and has about 7K miles on the conversion.

    Details of conversion:
Performance: Vehicle is generally driven in "blended mode," where kit battery assists gas engine in charging stock battery - this means the engine does less work, and uses less gas. System provides PHV assist for up to 40 miles after each charge. In highway driving, this translates to about a 20-40% improvement in fuel economy. In the city, with some practice, you can really take advantage of this system. With full batteries, you can drive up to a few miles at a time in EV mode. EV mode uses only the electric motor, and can be used at speeds below 34 mph. In local driving, people most people see a 40-100% improvement in fuel economy..

Features: Professional installation, 4kWh lithium battery pack, 110V charger (with plug on bumper), DC converter, battery management system, enclosed stainless steel box that fits below trunk, EV mode switch (installed on dash), ScanGauge car computer, Killawatt Meter, 3-year parts and labor warranty.

    Details of car:

    2005
    good tires

    bluetooth
    leather
    fog lights
    xeon lights
    $5,361 4 kWh plug-in conversion
    smart key
    runs and drive great!
    180K miles

    $13,900

I am happy to take it to a local mechanic of your choice to have it checked out. I can also pick anyone up at the airport who is interested, or I could also drive it to you. I would also consider a trade for a 2004 or newer prius.

Out of curiosity, why are you looking at selling this? Noticed you have another--with 10kw--for sale too. I currently have an '05, just bought in April, but am really interested in a plug-in conversion.

I am selling because we could really use the money right now, and living in Colorado and the great tax incentives, I can always convert another one down the road. Tell me about your '05. Which car are you more interested in the 4kWh system or the 10kWh system. Whether you want to trade for one of mine or convert your own, I am happy to answer questions for you. You can also check out the details of my conversions at Boulder Hybrid Conversions website.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the update. I'm really more interested in the 10kWh system; however, that's out of my price range/trade range. I have a 100 mile round trip commute each day, so the 10 kWh system probably makes more sense. But I'd be interested in your thoughts on the difference between both. Another consideration for me is that 35 miles of my commute is on the Ohio Turnpike--70 mph speed limit, but I drive 60 mph to get better mileage.

Regarding mine, it's an '05 that I bought in April. Just put new tires on last Friday--Cooper's LRR. Have had it serviced on scheduled and is in great shape/condition. It's based model, so no GPS/bluetooth, but does have smart key and updated light package (HID lights and also fog lights). About 128,000 miles on it currently.

Yeah, the 10kWh would be perfect, especially going 60MPH. You should average well over 100MPG. With the 4kWh system you would probably get about 70MPG. I don't have a lot of experience with that car. It is my wife's car, but If you have specific questions I could do my best to answer. If you were interested in a trade, I would do a trade for your 05 +$8,000. That would save you $4,500 over converting yours.

    Thanks!
