    Batteries are heavy, and it is a rolling box. I wouldn't be shocked to hear it has more drag than the original xB.

    i love iQ... it is small premium Toyota IMHO, like they all used to be, with suspension more expensive feeling than Corolla.

    Since Toyota has once again delayed the iQ, I was left with no choice but to find something else to drive. I couldn't keep waiting and waiting. Unfortunately, Toyota does not have much that I can afford that is appealing to me. With a four speed automatic, the Yaris was a big no. The Corolla is not appealing in any sense, either. I have officially defected from Toyota.

    Heres the new ride. So far love it.

    Hyundai Veloster.

    It was cheap, too. $20,400.00. Been getting high 30mpgs running around town.

    My first Hyundai. I must say that so far I am impressed. Fit and finish is just as good as any of the Toyotas I have owned. Interior materials are better, too. You get a choice of a 6sp manual or 6sp dual clutch auto.

    The new Yaris gets the same old 4 spd auto they have been using for years. Toyota has lost my interest, atleast when it comes to their entry level vehicles. So many other better options out there. The only thing they have in the works now that gets my attention is the Prius C.

    I hope it treats you well. It looks fun to drive. Hyundai certainly has made leaps and bounds with their newer designs. Someone's got to shake things up a bit. Ford seems to be doing well in that category, too.

    Sweet! I test drove one of those last month. It's pretty stylish, super affordable and fun to drive (they had the manual at the test event).

    Oh congrats. Too bad the Toyota iQ didn't work out.

    Those rims are slightly different than the ones in the promo shots I've seen.

    While the IQ is nice and the Honda CR-Z costs more, I would definitely go for the Veloster also. This is a sharp looking, bigger, will turn a lot of heads, Great choice!

    Think it's a 3 door right?

    "4-dr" actually....

    3 actual doors + hatch lol. (unlike the Mazda RX-8, MINI Clubman or Saturn ION all of which have a mini suicide passenger-side door)

    I had my heart set on the iQ. I think its an awesome vehicle. But, I had already been borrowing my dads truck for the last two months. I just couldn't wait two more months. And then what if the launch is delayed again? I don't think Toyota has put much effort into actually bringing this car to the U.S. It's not a priority.

    At first, I was really bummed. But I am happy with this car, so it all worked out. I already had some some tires, wheels, lowering springs and sway bar for the iQ, so that is kinda frustrating.

    I have decided that I will probably never own an iQ. I am excited to see the Prius C, though!

    The wheels on the Veloster come with the style package. The other wheels with the body color inserts come on the tech package.

    Thanks for all the kind words. I love this forum!

    As an iQ owner I'm glad to see how Toyota's strategy is turning people away from the car. While I want to see more Prius drivers, the iQ should be kept as a niche car because:

    1) The car is a niche car. It only fits the needs of few people, is overpriced and much of the uniqueness of niche cars is the low quantity. Fiat made the mistake of making the 500 the new Beetle so now you need a pink 500 in order to stand out. Toyota doesn't seem to repeat that mistake.
    2) iQ drivers are dicks. I know. I'm one of them. We parallel park where others thought it was impossible, manoeuvre around traffic in a way only beaten by motorbikes and make U-turns where others would block the traffic for ages while they try to repeat the stunt, and worst of all: Diesel iQ owners blind drivers in front of them when accelerating because of the overpowered engine and short overhang makes the car tilt like a classic muscle car when accelerating.
    Seriously. I need heavy duty windscreen wipers to hold all the papers of rage from my fellow citizens!

    I jsut read the iQ review on Inside Line. The damn thing is $16k ($20 with options). No way in hell - you can get a nice Hyundai Elantra for that kind of cash. Or, like the OP, a nice Veloster (which will get better MPG than the iQ).
