    Couple questions -

Does anyone know when these will be available to test drive in New England? Specifically, Bernardi Toyota in Framingham?

Also, will we be able to test drive the first ones to arrive or will they generally be pre-sold?

What is pricing like on these - any chance to get it below MSRP?

    Thanks.

I should also add: we are considering either a base Lexus HS or a well-equipped Prius v wagon (about the same price). Has anyone done a comparison on these 2 cars?

Yes - pricing assumes a couple grand off MSRP for the Lexus, and no discount for the Prius v.

My local dealer still has no word from corporate on delivery date or pricing. I find this strange since other dealer reps have already posted pricing and dates on here for SoCal. Does Toyota favor certain dealerships over others?

These are all very good questions for your dealership.
    Why don't you ask them?

Also call around to other dealers - there have to be at least half a dozen dealers within a 15 mile radius of Bernardi. If they are giving priority to certain dealers you might want to try Herb Chambers - if I had to guess of a Boston dealer to get priority treatment that would be my guess.

Thanks for the replies. I asked my local dealer all these questions and they had no answers. They didn't even have the pricing yet (which I got off this website).

Steve - good call. I think my best bet is Herb Chambers too.

Dianne, you would not *believe* the ignorance of the dealers up here in NorCal, 10 minutes research here on PriusChat and I knew more about the Prius v models + options than any dealer I talked to except you. That's part of why you are getting my business even though it means flying to SoCal + driving the car home!

    Since calling dealers in NorCal:
    1. I've been getting spammed near daily by one dealer with the subject "Your Prius v is ready" but when you read the e-mail they are talking about a 2011 Prius Five
    2. Another dealer tried to tell me there was no advanced tech package for the v Five, for AT I needed the Prius v Three. He was adamant even when I told him I was looking right at the documentation from Toyota that said the opposite. I finally sent him the link and said I would take my business elsewhere.
    3. Another dealer keeps spamming me with "we haven't heard back from you" mail when I spoke to their internet guy just the day before and he still didn't know his allocations.
    4. Finally, one of the above dealers tried to pull the car I want that you have allocated (and reserved for me) out from under you and into his allocation. I told him flat out I wouldn't buy it from him even if he succeeded because I don't support unethical business practices.

    PV, a couple of observations?

I have many requests for folks who have no clue what to call The wagon. I get requests for the V Prius and are shocked to see a 2011 quoted ... And then they want the tech package and are shocked to see a 34k msrp reference when they expected to see a 37k msrp and confusion continues and will continue.

And, as the one who manages the new car inventory at my store as far as the allocations go, and especially the hybrids....... no one can take a car that's allocates to me "from me" without my agreement or permission. They might be able to score one like it on a subsequent allocation, but they won't get mine unless it's OK with me.

Thanks Dianne, glad to hear there's no "swiping" allowed. As far as telling the dealers what I wanted, I always did it in writing, and always as "2012 Prius v (not V) five, that is, the new 'wagon' style larger Prius with Advanced Technology package" to minimize the possibility that someone will misinterpret my request as being for a 2011 Prius V. With one I even asked what "genius" at Toyota marketing thought naming an entire model with the same letter as a previous year's trim package was a good idea...
