Hello everyone. So, my first post here (defiantly not the last ;) ). Anyway, I have a 2005 Prius (not sure of the package, but it has the 5CD JBL system) and some electronics aren't working.

1.) The dome lights won't come on, no matter what.
2.) The lock/unlock with the fob will not work.
3.) The keyless start will not work.
    4.) The clock doesn't work.
5.) Sometimes the car honks when it's started with the fob inserted in the dash.

The weirdest part about this, NO FUSES ARE BLOWN! (checked with multi-meter) I have no idea what's wrong, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help before hand :) If I can get this figured out, I'm gonna start working on getting an aftermarket headunit. :p

Hi Beausiph. Have you checked the condition of the 12V battery yet. The Prius can get some pretty weird behavior when it's low so that's always a good place to start.

Thank you for the suggestion, I have tested the battery, I got 12.2 volts. I thought it was okay, could it still be bad?

Even if my battery isn't the issue, I still think I should invest in one of these. THANK YOU!

Is that the old style, requiring a kit (included)?

Last month we heard of a new style, a drop-in replacement: New Optima 12v Yellow Top D51 battery with Pencil Posts
How long was the car sitting since it was last run? It should sit overnight before this test, or at least multiple hours.

For my non-hybrids, that is too low. I haven't been through a 12V replacement on my Prius yet, so must defer to others.

    1. Please note that there are two fuse boxes. One is located behind the driver's headlight assembly while the other is located under the dashboard on the driver's side.

    2. I suggest you obtain the electrical wiring diagram for your model year from techinfo.toyota.com so that you can see the fuses and relays that are relevant to the circuits in question.

    3. Then, pick one circuit, for example the dome light, start from the 12V battery, and find out where in the circuit you no longer have 12VDC when measured to body ground. At that point you should be close to the culprit. Good luck.

I checked both fuse boxes, but I'll check the wires in question and see what I get! Thanks!
