Yea the avatar is still there, but our picture hosting service is dead - so the rear shot of the Prius, & the priuschat.com sticker is down too ... seems to happen one a year. Danny used it as a display shot in the PC store so I go there to look at it. auld lang syye :) Well for now, the upscale ride will have to remain the 400h. Fortunately we brought it down from Montana a while back and got it CA registerd ... so ... we're not having to rent a second car. Heck ... I still still feel welcome - even though we now have no prius!!

Man, I would be in a huge funk--I guess the insurance payout would help with that funk a bit, but there's blood and sweat invested in my prius as well as money and it would be a painful loss. Glad you are uninjured and look forward to your PIP stories!

Aw, I'm very sorry that happened, but as I've already learned in my short 26 years - health comes first! You're obviously smart enough to buy a Prius in the first place, so we know you'll choose a wise successor. :p And as I read in another PC thread, make sure you're okay before you sign off with insurance. It would be awful to have problems come up a week later you need treatment for!

Glad nobody was hurt. Prius v goes on sale any day now, and I know there's a dealer in your area who would hook you up ;-)

Plus side, it looks like the airbags didn't deploy, so provided the radiator supports aren't bent or any other serious engine-compartment intrusion, you might not see it totaled - though age is working against it.

Sorry to hear about that! I know you loved that car...glad you're okay.

Be careful with the insurance people. When I sold the Prius, shopping around for trades it took me a while to find someone who appreciated the value of the Prius...or maybe it was everybody trying to ram me up the pooper...

Hate it when accidents happen. Went from Mazda to Prius and the Mazda didn't look bad at all, the only blemish is the front bumper and still totaled.

Steve, funny you should mention insurance - we just got a confirmation of the payout (yep, it's a total) ...
Mind you, we bought our 2004 IN 2004 - used (from a G.I. who didn't want to go back to afganistan - gawd, were STILL there), for about $18,500. For top of the line (package 9 back then) plus the add on's - EBH, stiffining plate, auto door lock (thankyou PC store), and leather. At nearly 130,000 miles We were hoping they'd at least give us some where near $8K. Nope. $14K
    :whoo:
I almost feel bad, for feeling so happy! AND, I finally got my signature picture restored below ... which coincidentally went away, on the same day that our Prius died. Ok Toyota - let's hurry the PiP along ... or should we go v . . . . . . . . hmmmm happy decisions . . . but I still get a bit misty looking at our signature pic - gotta get me some more priuschat.com decals.

WOW! That's amazing you got that much on the Total--maybe I need to have an accident in my '04!

From someone who lost a parent in a car accident, I'm really glad you are OK. You made out very well with the insurance amount, and that will make an excellent down payment towards your next vehicle. I know you'll sit down and evaluate which vehicle will fit your needs the best.

Nice! Would the Leaf be jealous sharing a garage with a PHV? :D

    WOW!

Theres no way you would get that for your Prius on a trade or private party. Hell, a dealer might be able to get $14k...but probably not with over 100k miles. You did GREAT!
