I drove one today at Team Toyota, it was the Base Two Model. Very nice ride, and lots of room! I was very impressed...

Anyone in the Atlanta area interested let me know I can hook you up with Jason, he's helped several folks here get a good deal!

thats an awesome deal. the best i could find is on truecar.com. they are listing the prius v wagon in northern california for about 5% off MSRP.(approximately $1300-$1500 off MSRP) i think the dealer is in fairfield.

unfortunately i decided to buy the regular prius II three weeks ago because i thought it was too good a deal to pass up. should have waited.

USAA has them listed in the Metro Atlanta area for around $460 to $600 below MSRP depending on the trim level. Also, are they not offering the trim level 4 on the v? USAA only lists pricing for the 2, 3, and 5...

There is no trim level 4! Just the 2, 3 and 5.

    Rodabaugh,

Did you pay cash, or did you finance? Did you have a trade in? There are multiple ways for dealers to make money on deals.

Sorry about that, been mad busy lately. I financed the vehicle, i got a credit score under 700, put 3500 cash down and got an interest rate of 2.69% for 60 months. I had no trade in. I dont think the dealer made much money off me not with these rates and the cut below invoice. Best of luck, sorry for the late reply.

Did $25,750 include tax title and license? If it didn't, there is no way that is $775 under invoice. That isn't even close to invoice.

However, if that price includes TTL, then you got a winner and your salesman does deserve props!

Well, I do not know about in your state but in SC, tax is a flat $300, title and tag is probably $100 to $150. So call it $450. Some around here like to get into this "Document Fee" stuff which just makes me mad. They are in the business of selling cars and that means doing paperwork. It would be like going to the grocery store, buying your groceries and then they charge you 10 dollars more for the cashiers time to ring you up!! It makes me mad.

Whenever I'm looking at a car, if they try to hit me with a document fee, I get angry but I'll ask em to remove that. If they argue for a second, I'm out of there and will find another dealer. Thats a BUNCH of crap

Point being, if his 3 model listed for say 28. Then (based on info I got from True car, they claim invoice to be about 1200 less than MSRP. True "cost" seems to be about 500 less than Invoice. So from cost to MSRP seems to rin about 1700. Is that in line with what you guys see?

So, 775 under invoice would be about 200 into the holdback. If thats the case, that would seem like a decent deal AT THIS TIME.

Is that how yall are understanding the numbers?

The only fees I feel are legit which should be added to invoice price are the Destination Fees and Local Advertising Fees. So if invoice on the car is $24,577 (according to truecar.com) -$775 from that is $23,802. Then add the destination and ad fees ($1230, again from truecar.com), you have $25,032 before TTL, which lines up with (what I assume to be) an out the door price quoted by the OP. The only thing that is slightly shady to me is that they tax the destination and ad fees, but I think that's pretty much standard fare.

Anyone know what Residual is? I think that was the word I saw. That Dianne lady mentioned something in an old thread I googled about residual going down or something. I think that is different from a holdback. Correct?

Any ideas on when this car might get in strong supply such that they might be more willing to haggle?

Also, what about the Toyotathon thing? Is that worth watching for or might it exclude this new V?

I'd be interested in catching a 0.9% or 0% interest, along with haggling about 2K off the price, and no doc fees, and no oher BS Scotch guard, or extended warranty, or anything else except maybe the tax title and tags, and MAYBE have that included for 2K under sticker price.

I may be asking a bit much but I haggle hard!! :) Its fun!

    Any thoughts on that?

Also, when I was looking at the CT200 I saw Lexus does a graduate student 1K off.

Does Toyota ever do anything like that? My GF is about to finish grad school and we could work her paperwork into the deal to get a bit off there.

We just picked up a Prius v Three for $1785 under sticker/MSRP. We didn't finance either. I'd say $2k under will be tough but doable, at least here in California.

pdp, at this early stage I think you getting 1800 under invoice rright now is pretty good. I'm surprised they took that much off since so few are on the lots. Is your a loaded out model 5? How did you haggle them down that far?

It wasn't 1800 under invoice, it was 1800 (1785) off sticker/MSRP. It ended up 300 under invoice. I think 1800 under invoice would be good in pretty much any scenario :)

Anyway, here in the San Francisco area, the lots seem to be pretty full of them. Of the 5 dealerships I went to or contacted, there were at least 6 on the lot, some had over 20... and yes, I mean only Prius v.

I got the v Three, I started off at truecar.com, where they gave me a list of 3 dealers in my area that quoted the best prices. This one dealership quoted invoice price so I called him up. After some back and forth phone calls and a little haggling, we settled on 300 under invoice. I know you're in SC so you most likely will not buy in CA, but if you want more details, or if anyone else does, feel free to shoot me a PM.
