Can anyone tell me the dimensions and vertical clearance of the hatch door? Also, the distance from the back of the front seats to the hatch w/ the rear seats down? (yes, it is variable based on position of the front seats) How do these compare to the '09?

I went to see a 2010 yesterday but forgot my tape measure :-( and I haven't been able to find it online. There's a recumbent bike that is said to fit in the back of an '09, but I'm interested in seeing if it would fit in the 2010 as well.

I am also interested in the dimensions. I currently drive a 2000 Honda CR-V and just last weekend I picked up a large box at Wal-mart that only fit when I had the front passenger seat all the way up, back seats down, box tilted and door pushed shut. I'm wondering if this box would have had ANY chance of fitting in a Prius.

    Thanks!

hi! Im new here and i have a similar question. I want to know the height measurements of the hatch opening for the 2010 PRIUS IV. I have a small skinny metal desk that I'm hoping would fit with the back seats down. It measures 28wdt X 37 hght X 28 deep

My road bike easily fits in my Prius without taking off the wheels. It's 66 inches long. I moved the passenger seat forward a few inches from it's normal far back position. Tilting the passenger seat forward would add quite a few more inches.

It's really easy to fold down the back seats. The release buttons can be reached from the rear side doors or from the hatch. I have to unlatch the back seat head rests, lift and fold them forward to clear the driver's seat back. (I keep them folded forward all the time, for a little more visibility out the back)

Dimensions with the seats folded down:

Length: 68 inches from my driver seat position to the back edge of the hatch floor mat. The flat floor itself is 60 inches long.

Height: the lowest point is the top edge of the hatch opening. The car ceiling slopes upward from there. It's 24.5 inches from the hatch floor vertically to the top of the hatch opening. (I wouldn't have guessed that is the height. It looks taller with the hatch open. but any large box taller than 24.5 inches won't slide in)

Width: the narrowest flat floor is at the rear wheel wells. That's 38.5 inches wide.

    With the seats up:
Covered storage with the roller cover in place: approximately 13 inches tall by 26 inches deep by 48 inches wide. None of the sides are straight, of course. This doesn't include the under floor storage box.

That is the weirdest thing. I am going to pickup a recumbent bike too! I am trying to find the dimensions for my 2009 Prius (as I cannot find my tape measure either.) Just funny that we are having the same experience several years later. (11/02/14)
